Mount Carmel Borough Police is trying to locate the owner of a female Pitbull that was found lying under a vehicle. She appears to have been suffering a heat related emergency. Thanks to some neighbors nearby they gave us some water for her until we could get her back to the Police Department and into the air conditioning. She is doing well since she was brought in from the heat. She has a white and brindle colored coat and has a camouflage type collar on her without any tags. She was scanned for a microchip but, has none. Anyone knowing the owner of this girl please call the non-emergency number to the Northumberland County Communications Center at 570-648-3868. We are limited in housing her since we have no pens, etc but, due to the extreme temps outside we are working to find her some suitable shelter. Please share with your contacts. Thanks!
