Are motorized or electric scooters legal to ride on the street? The use of motorized or electric scooters on the highways or roadways is illegal and their use is inherently dangerous. They do not meet vehicle code requirements and the operator is also required to have a valid PA driver’s license. These scooters can be operated on private property with the property owner’s permission.

The Borough of Saint Clair has established, maintains, and is responsible for the enforcement of a variety of municipal codes and Borough ordinances created to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the of our community. If you know of a property or business which has a unsafe condition or possible violation, please contact Roland Price @ 570-429-0640 to report. It is important that residents make code enforcement aware of violations so they can be corrested and made safe. Police do not enforce these violations. We will will, however, file a report if you contact us with a concern.

State Prison Emergencies: On Oct. 1, 2011, the Department of Corrections switched from its previous emergency notification system to AlertPA. To sign up to receive notifications about prison emergencies. You can be notifed on your home phone, cell phone and via e-mail and/or text messaging. You select the method ... you stay informed!

As Winter approaches and snow begins to fall parking spots are harder to locate. We want to rid the streets of vehicles which do not have current inspection and/or registration stickers or insurance. Please post here or contact by phone or email to make us aware the location/make/model/color of problem vehicles so the issue can be corrected or the vehicle removed. All reports can be anonymous if you desire.

Theft from Vehicles: It is a Crime of Opportunity! LOCK YOUR VEHICLE. Thieves look for opportunities to steal items from vehicles in large unattended parking lots, on public streets, during events on secluded streets. It is extremely rare that we have successful theft from a locked vehicle. Lock it up and protect your valuables. Don’t be a Victim!
