BOROUGH OF WELLSBORO POLICE OFFICER EXAMINATION NOTICE The Borough of Wellsboro is currently accepting applications for a full time police officer pool. The Borough is not currently hiring however any future openings may be filled using this pool of applicants. The application may be obtained at the Wellsboro Borough office located at 14 Crafton Street, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania 16901 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There will be a $35.00 non-refundable application fee if you pick the application in person. If you request the application be mailed to you there will be an additional $10.00 non-refundable postage & handling fee. The application submission deadline will be 2:00 p.m. on December 15, 2017. Applicants who meet the general qualifications will be required to take a physical agility and written examination. The date and time of the physical agility and written examination will be announced after the application deadline. Other information regarding the job requirements is available at the Borough office. These requirements include but are not limited to: U.S. Citizen; high school diploma or equivalency; must be twenty-one (21) years of age; good mental and physical condition capable of successfully passing a medical, physical and psychological evaluation; must be able to pass a physical agility test and a written exam; PA driver’s license; must have completed Act 120 training and passed the state exam at time of appointment, and must be able to meet the civil service and state certification requirements. These are paid positions responsible for the safety of children crossing busy borough streets during high traffic times before and after school. Stop by the Memorial Day Parade on Monday 05/29/2017 in downtown Wellsboro beginning at 10:30 AM. The parade will begin on Main Street at Central Ave. and proceed down Main Street and Queen Street ending at the Cemetery on Nichols Street.

Bodine Street will be closed from Greenbriar Road to English Street May 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19 from 8 AM to 2:30 PM each day for road maintenance.
