I apologize for deleting the previous post however I believe the conversation got carried away. Commenting will be restricted if it happens again. This page is to relay information from the police department to the community it serves. Obviously there was enough evidence presented to a judge for him to be put in prison on $250,000 bail. Let the judge and jury decide. No negativity or your comment will be deleted!! ***************UPDATE************ Jared S. Pierce 29 of Westfield Pennsylvania was arrested in conjunction with the bank robbery that occurred on 02/13/2018 at the North West Bank in Westfield. Pierce was charged with 2 counts of Robbery, Theft, and Receiving Stolen property. During an ongoing investigation the Westfield Borough Police Department identified Pierce as the primary suspect. Following a tip that Pierce was at a residence in Cowanesque with a large amount of cash, a search warrant was obtained and served by the officers of the Westfield Borough Police Department, Galeton Police Department and Coudersport PSP. Pierce was located and taken into custody without incident. The scene was then turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police for an additional investigation. Pierce was arraigned and is currently incarcerated at the Tioga County Prison pending bail. The majority of the cash was retrieved.

**********Official Press Release********* On 02/13/2018 at approximately 255 pm a Caucasian male wearing a brown browning hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black and white Nike sneakers, and a ski type mask entered the Northwest Savings Bank located on Main Street in Westfield Borough. The suspect was estimated to be 6’00” and 170-180 lbs. The suspect demanded money and then jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the teller’s drawer. He then jumped back over the counter and exited the bank. He was last seen crossing Main St and fleeing North through a residential area.

**********ANY VULGAR, PROFANE OR POLICE BASHING COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED AND USER WILL BE BANNED********** On 2/13/18 at approximately 2:50 pm a masked Caucasian male approximately 6’ wearing a brown hooded sweat shirt, and blue jeans entered Northwest Savings Bank and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over the suspect and he fled west on foot. If you have any information regarding this incident please contact the Westfield Borough Police Dept.

************ATTENTION************ **********PLEASE SHARE********** The Westfield Mayor has issued an emergency proclamation restricted all parking on the side streets within the borough of Westfield. This will allow for easier snow removal by the Boro work crew. Any vehicles left on the side streets will be removed at the owners expense. This begins at 1 AM on Wednesday 2/7 and ends at 5 AM on Thursday 2/8. Please help our crews and increase their effectiveness of keeping the streets clean.

Reminder As the pending snow approaches we would like to remind Westfield Borough Residents to please refrain from parking on the streets between 1 am and 5 am to allow for easier snow removal. Also we would like to remind all residence to shovel their walks so no one slips and falls.

In efforts to keep excess prescription drugs off the streets, Westfield Borough Police Department will once again be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This Saturday from 10am-2pm bring in your excess prescriptions for disposal. We will also dispose of any illegal drugs or paraphernalia! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

Yesterday the officers from Westfield Borough Police Department spent the day at the range with other officers from the Cowanesque Valley. Just another day of training and re-qualifying, which is required by the state to maintain certification.
