WANTED: LOCAL ARTISTS and ART SUPPORTERS for the WYBPD "Street Artist Guild", aka: "Arts n Cops" Throughout 2018, We would like to run a series of one (1) day workshops targeting local & underprivileged kids & teens to teach them various mediums of art: Screen Printing, Street Photography, Sketching / Journaling, painting, videography, even sewing beanies and drawing tattoos are all ideas. We want kids to shoot photos, not guns; sell a silk screened book bag, not a dime bag; make a beanie, don't steal one; paint a mural, not a graffiti tag. By taking the arts out of the schools, we are taking the creativity out of the kids. Please put out the word to artists that you know, and supporters of the arts to help me with this project...I'm hoping that later in the year we can have a gallery showing of West York inspired & created art at our municipal center. Info about future workshops will be forthcoming. If you are an artist, or wish to support the arts through donations, please email Chief Millsaps: mmillsaps@wybpd.org

While on foot patrol, officers encountered a homeless subject perched on steps of a random home, consuming alcohol. Rather than arrest or cite...WYPD officers supplied the subject with a knit hat to keep him warm, and escorted him to shelter for the evening. #warriorwoven #community #wecarethatyouarecold Warrior Woven
