We would like to send out a heart felt ‘Thank You’ to everyone who helped make Operation Christmas Child a success! We exceeded our goal of 100 boxes and were able to fill 112 boxes! Thank you to all of our citizens who donated items and made monetary donations! Thank you to the shopper at Dollar Tree who saw us shopping and gave us a monetary donation! Thank you to Walmart in Irmo for the gift card donation! And thank you to the Town of Irmo staff for donations and assistance in packing the boxes! Operation Christmas Child

We'd like to thank local Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Carol French for donating more than 100 tooth brushes to go towards Operation Christmas Child!

The Irmo Police Department is asking for the Community's assistance in identifying the individuals in this video. The video shows 4 individuals that are walking in the late hours of October 31st in the New Friarsgate Area. If you have any informaiton, please contact Sgt. ***11/02/2017*** We are still accepting donations for Operation Christmas Child. Our goal is still to fill 100 boxes. We have reached out to local businesses requesting donations, but you can see some items that individuals have donated in the picture shown. All donations need to be dropped off by Wednesday, November 8th.

Irmo Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Marquil Deshawn Ball (25). He is wanted by the Irmo Police on outstanding warrants for Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Reckless Driving, Shoplifting, and Driving Under Suspension. These charges stem from a shoplifting incident that occurred in Irmo on 10/26/2017 at a local store. Anyone with information about his whereabouts are asked to contact the Irmo Police Department at (803) 785-2521 (dispatch center) (803) 781-8088 (headquarters) or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.

We'd like to thank students from Green Charter-Community Outreach Club for bringing our officers bottled water, and handmade greeting cards! They especially enjoyed the tour and car display!

Reminder from the Town of Irmo

To the Irmo Community The Irmo Police Department has several bicycles that have been found in the Town of Irmo. If you had a Bicycle stolen or lost in the past several years, please call our office on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday during normal business hours. Our contact person will be Sgt. Grinstead (803) 781-8088. If bikes are not claimed by November 30th, they will be donated to the Kidney Foundation.

***UPDATE*** 10/16/2017: Carter was arrested this morning with the assistance of the Richland County Sheriff's Department. Thanks to the community for all the assistance that was provided. ***WANTED*** Chad Carter, 29, has an active arrest warrant for Domestic Violence-2nd Degree. Please contact Irmo PD at 785-2521 or 1-888-CRIME-SC with any information as to Carter's whereabouts.

Community Awareness Alert Several cars in the Irmo area were entered by unknown persons and items were taken. This is a reminder to remove all valuable items from your vehicles and make sure your vehicles are secured. These incidents are occurring in the early hours of the morning. If you see or hear anything suspicious, please notify Law Enforcement.

Accident Notification There is a Motor vehicle collision at Saint Andrews Road and Palmetto Wood Parkway. Irmo Fire and EMS on scene doing an extraction. Please use caution traveling through.

National Take Back Initiative Don’t forget this Saturday is the day for this event! On October 28th, 2017 The Irmo Police Department will participate in the DEA National Take Back Initiative. On this date from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. the Irmo Police Department will be accepting unused or expired medications for safe disposal. No liquid medications or syringes will be accepted. Irmo Police Department is collecting donations for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child provides children in need around the world with a shoebox filled with gifts. Donations accepted for boys and girls, ages 2 – 14. Donation boxes have been placed in the IPD lobby. All donations need to be dropped off by Wednesday, November 8th. Thank you for helping us make Christmas special for these children around the world!
