Texas Roadhouse - Columbia (Columbiana Drive) would like to recognize Investigations Corporal Kelly Mountzouros as the Irmo PD “Hero of the Month” for the month of May. Investigator Mountzouros has been instrumental when investigating Internet Crimes Against Children. Additionally, she was recently apart of a committee that raised awareness against Child Abuse. She was able to have a local sign shop design and donate several signs to be used for the project and spent numerous hours on this project while shuffling her case files for several other crimes. Congratulations Investigator Mountzouros and keep up the good work!

We are 2 months away from National Night Out! Last year was a great turn out, and we plan to make it even greater this year with help from our community partners and volunteer citizens. This video will get you excited to see what's coming!!

Just a follow-up story from our post recently related to officers carrying Narcan. https://www.wltx.com/video/news/local/fighting-the-opioid-epidemic-with-narcan/101-8152515

The Irmo Police Department received training recently and each officer will now carry Narcan nasal spray. It can be used to reverse the effects of opioids if someone is found in an overdose condition. Opioid abuse continues to be on the rise and the Irmo Police Department is one of many that are issuing Narcan to their officers.

Please, wear your seat belt. #TargetZeroSC #WhatMakesYouClick

Today is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. Yesterday, Mayor King provided a proclamation for the Town to recognize the day, and fly all flags at government buildings at half staff. In memory of fallen officers throughout the entire United States, may we never forget those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Investigations Corporal Trent Williams was nominated by his colleagues as the 'Officer of the Year' for 2017. Investigator Williams distinguished himself above all of his peers by taking on all tasks asked of him without hesitation or complaint. In addition to closing 180 cases in the year, Investigator Williams conducted numerous employee backgrounds, served as the liason at property crime meetings, attended the Lexington County Grand Jury, and served as Driving Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor to train other officers with-in the department. Congratulations Investigator Williams!

The Optimist Club of St. Andrews-Irmo presented Investigator Trent Williams with their “Respect for Law Award” at a ceremony this morning. Investigator Williams has been a valuable employee to the Town of Irmo for the past 9 years and was recommended for this award by his peers. Congratulations to Investigator Williams.
