Hello Spring! 😂😎
Townsend Police Department is located at 133 Tiger Dr, Townsend, 37882 TN. The Chief of Police of the department is Ron Suttles. The Townsend Police Department phone number is 865-448-6875.
Hello Spring! 😂😎
A recent comment on our post about the new spare vehicle has concerned me because of its inaccuracy. Normally I would not respond to a Facebook attack, but I want our citizens to know the facts. 1. We do not have a full time office person and therefore have an answering machine. Our message clearly states that if you need to speak with an Officer, dial 911 for emergencies and 983-3620 for non-emergencies. This reaches our dispatch, who then contacts the Officer on-duty via radio. These are the exact same numbers you need to reach the Blount County Sheriff, Maryville Police, Alcoa Police, Fire, and EMS. 2. No Officers of the Townsend Police Department loiter at the IGA. If one is there it is because they were requested or they are getting something to eat or drink. 3. To my knowledge, no Officers (including the Police Chief) are related to any city commissioners. 4. TPD enjoys a symbiotic relationship with Blount Co Sheriff’s Office. Our mutual aid agreement benefits both city and county residents in Townsend. I am dedicated to the continuous improvement of law enforcement services at TPD. I am always willing to listen to constructive criticism, and will meet with anyone to discuss concerns. However, if you choose to publicly post a negative comment, then at the least, please make sure your post is factual. Thank you all for your support of our department. We are honored to serve this community. ~ Chief Condee
CLARIFICATION: This vehicle was acquired from another agency with the assistance of the Blount County Sheriff's Office. Sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion. ~ Chief Condee A big thank you to Sheriff James Berrong and the Blount County Sheriff's Office for providing this much needed vehicle for use as our spare patrol vehicle. Sheriff Berrong is passionate about providing professional law enforcement services to Blount County and always supports our efforts here at TPD! 🇺🇸
Update: TDOT HAS ONE LANE OPEN. Wears Valley Rd is blocked just before the riding stables. Please choose an alternate route.
New uniform patch in service today! Great design by label industries. Have a great week and stay safe!
New badges at TPD! Same Bear, different color - gunmetal grey. It’s what all the cool kids are wearing! 😎
Loving the new street sign. #tigerpride
Our town 😊💙
If your cellular service is down and you are using WiFi to make phone calls, you may not be able to call 911. If you cannot get through on 911, please dial the non-emergency # 865-983-3620.
ATTENTION: Roadways are getting bad and will likely get worse overnight. If you don’t absolutely have to be out, please stay home! There have already been multiple traffic accidents all over Blount County. Be smart. Be safe!
Townsend Commissioner Ron Palewski presented Principal Stout with a nice little check for TES. Funds were raised by the city through donations from participants in the Townsend Christmas parade. We love our school and appreciate the hard work and dedication of Principal Stout and his staff!
Think it’s cold? How often do you see our river freezing up? Please look out for your neighbors, especially the elderly. Also, make sure your pets are inside or at least have adequate shelter (state law). Everyone please stay warm and safe!
If you are out and about please use caution. Roads are beginning to get a little slick in spots. Pay attention to what’s ahead. Sudden braking causes the majority of crashes in these conditions. BE SAFE 👮🏻♂️
Don't get caught on your phone in a school zone. Effective 01/01/18.
Merry Christmas to all from your PD! Stay warm and safe!
Congratulations to the Townsend Lady Tigers! Great job girls! Your Police Department is so proud of all of you!!! CHAMPS!!!! 🏀🏀🏀
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We are all blessed to call this beautiful place HOME! Thankful for our citizens and appreciate all your support! Have a blessed and safe day!
ATTENTION!!: Please help keep our school zone safe. Speeding through the school zone on Hwy 321 is a real issue. Please keep your speed at a reasonable rate while passing through this area during the hours of 7:00am - 8:00am, and from 2:30pm - 3:00pm. We realize people are in a hurry to get to work, etc., but the safety of our children should be at the top of the list for all of us. Thank you for your support and assistance. Have a safe week!
UPDATE: The owner has been located. However, Sgt Rayburn is still stinky. Thanks!! These two were just picked up at KOA campground. One had a collar but the phone number was not in service. Apparently they had been hanging out with some skunks. So, everyone might want to keep a safe distance from Sgt. Rayburn for a couple days 😂. Animal control will be picking them up, so contact the shelter to claim them please.
New uniform hats. 😎
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT- TN law requires the use of headlights during inclement weather. This includes fog! Lots of vehicles going through town in the morning fog with no headlights on. Some may be leaving their switch on "auto", which doesn't always work for rain or fog. Please take the time to flip your headlight switch "on". This will allow others to see you and improve your safety. Have a great day and stay safe!! 😎
