Halloween: The New Johnsonville Police Department will be handing out candy at the Police Department tomorrow night from 04:00-08:00 p.m. Please stop by and meet some of our officers, show us your costume, and get some delicious candy. Please remember to drive safely tomorrow night due to the increase of individuals walking throughout neighborhoods. We want to ensure it remains a safe and fun evening for everyone involved. If you noticed Police and Fire today at Lakeview School, the School did not catch fire. A vehicle in the parking lot caught on fire. District 4 Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire. No one was injured, all students and faculty are okay.

We mourn the loss of life in Las Vegas and wish for healing for all those injured in so many way. Please continue to pray for all those impacted by this horrific act of violence.

Notice: The City of New Johnsonville will be removing the four way stop sign on Industrial Road at the Ashe Avenue intersection. Signs will be installed on Ashe Avenue and Carman Avenue stating "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop". Traffic traveling from Ashe Avenue and Carman Avenue (across Industrial Road) will still be required to stop, however; traffic on Industrial Road will no longer be required to stop. This will be effective as of November 1, 2017. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact City Hall at (931) 535-2715.

It is with great sadness I learned of the passing of Ethan Turner today. A local young man that always had a smile on his face. May God be with his family during this trying time. May he ease the pain for them now and in the coming months and years. Let us all keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
