The community got together once again to help raise funds for the fight against cancer. The Police and Sheriff's Department lent time to a some good clean fun in a Dunk Booth. Officer Chris Cummings and Capt. Darrell Davis were two of the volunteers from the agencies to brave the ice cold waters of the tank. When I say "Ice Waters", I mean ICE. 10 bags were added to the tank just before Officer Cummings climbed up to the seat. We hope you enjoy the pictures.

Officers with the Union City Police Department conducted a seat belt checkpoint at the intersection of East Jackson and South Home. During that time approximately 250 vehicles came through in the hour we were there. Out of those vehicles, 4 citations were issued for no seat belt.

Officer Stephanie Marshall puts her whole heart in to the education of her DARE students each year. Each year it is a privilege for her to see the kids move on with a good knowledge base on how to resist the temptation of drug and alcohol abuse.

Lt. Dowell showed another group of students the danger of texting while driving with the Governor's Highway Safety simulator during the Prom week campaign.
