We have had several requests to start a CITIZENS ON PATROL unit. The officers are interested but it takes help and involvement from the community. So, as a member of our community you be interested in being involved in a program like Citizens on Patrol or a Neighborhood Watch program.

Winter weather and slick roads have been the cause of numerous accidents across Bexar County. Fortunately the driver of this truck walked away from this accident in Kirby without any injuries. Please don’t take a chance. Try and stay home if you can. If you cant’ please be careful. Take it slow. Allow for extra time and remember your following distances. Be safe and get there alive!

Kirby Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a vehicle fire at Schertz Bank today. No one was hurt but the car was lost.

Shortly after midnight on Friday, December 15, 2017, officers responded to the 5200 block of Binz Engleman Road after receiving a 911 call about a man with a machete. The arrived on scene and found the victim, a 22 year old man, standing in the driveway. He was bleeding from numerous cuts to his neck, face, and hands. He told officers that his attacker was inside the house. Officer entered the home and found the 39 year old in the garage armed with a machete. The suspect, who is the victim’s step-father, was arrested without incident. He was bleeding from a large head wound. During the altercation, the victim used a metal step ladder to defend himself and somehow managed to strike the suspect in the head. EMS arrived and treated both men. The suspect was taken to University Hospital where he will be held until he is well enough to be transferred to the Bexar County Jail. The victim was taken to another local hospital. Both men received non-life threatening injuries.

On Sunday November 26, 2017 at 12:22 pm, an unidentified man walked into the Dollar General in the 5000 Block of Old Seguin Road. He approached the clerk and pull out a large black hand gun. The robber got into what was described as a grayish-black 4 door car. He was last seen fleeing east bound on FM 78 heading towards Converse with an undetermined amount of cash. The Kirby Police Department is asking for your help in identifying the man in the picture. He appears to be an older man wearing a very distinctive orange jacket and a black knit stocking cap. We believe he stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 230 pounds. If you know who he is please call us at 210-661-8515 and ask to speak to a detective. Callers can remain anonymous.
