Thank you, Coppell ER!

Pretty cool.

All, I would like to make everyone aware of some training we have started providing to businesses and churches in our community. Officer C. Cobb and Cpl. W. Largent have been certified through ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) to deliver CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events). Basically, the course provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. For those churches and businesses in Coppell whom have not attended this training, contact Officer C. Cobb (ccobb@coppelltx.gov) or Cpl. W. Largent (wlargent@coppelltx.gov) for more information. You may also visit avoiddenydefend.org for more information.

We had our first Coffee with the Cops on Saturday, March 3, at George Coffee and Provisions. It was great chance to meet with some of our citizens.

Our Citizens on Patrol were out at some of the games this weekend. Good job Thomas Snawder and Patrick Moody!

Frontier is reporting all 911 service has now been restored.

Our non-emergency phone lines are back up. Thank you for your patience!

The National Association of Town Watch, the lead organizer of National Night Out, released its 2017 awards. According to their published rankings of U.S. cities who participated in National Night Out in 2017, the City of Coppell was ranked #6 nationally in our category of cities population 15,000 to 50,000. For the eleventh year in a row, Coppell ranked #1 in the State of Texas. The rankings are based on a number of factors, including the overall quality of a city’s National Night Out community engagement campaign, neighborhood participation and law enforcement involvement. Coppell continues to lead NNO in the local, state and national level. This is due to the involvement and commitment by our community. Although organized and celebrated the first Tuesday in October every year, for Coppell, National Night Out is a year-round event. The Coppell Police Department coordinates community events all year round from Women’s Self Defense classes, Citizens Police Academy, Junior Police Academy, NNO Golf Tournament and many more. “This award and recognition is in large part due to our citizens’ pride in our community. The first Tuesday in October is our night to shine, by coming together as one, and celebrating the “family community for a lifetime” motto in Coppell. The Coppell Police Department is proud to be a part.” Police Chief Mac Tristan. 2018 is underway and the next National Night Out night is on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Make your plans now to participate by contacting Officer Paul Gonzales at 972-304-3625.
