We want to wish everyone a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. Our D.W.I. units will be out this weekend in full force, so remember do not drink and drive. This weekend is also a "No-Refusal Weekend" so remember, if you are going to drink, use a designated driver or other form of transportation like uber, taxi, lyft etc.

Our prayers are being sent to Santa Fe in this terrible tradegy. Our thoughts are with all the victims and their families.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls, National Police Week.We also honor all of our officers during this week. They are dedicated men and women and they protect our community and the citizens of this City. Thank a Police Officer and Honor our Fallen.

We want to take the time to thank the City of South Houston Crime Control District who made it possible for us to acquire a high water rescue boat. After Hurricane Harvey we realized that we were in need of high water rescue vehicles in our city to be able to assist our citizens. We are forever thankful.

Something sweet for all our fantastic dispatchers. They have one of the most important jobs here and we appreciate all of you on this week and every week!

From our family to yours we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Our officers will be out in full force tonight keeping our city and citizens safe, We also want to remind our citizens that it is against city ordinance for you to pop fireworks, if you see any firework activity in our city you can call 713 944-1910 and report it. Also please remember " Drive Sober or get Pulled Over " we have zero tolerance for drunk drivers.

Our South Houston Police Officers' Association Toy Drive turned out to be our best year yet and all thanks to our sponsors and donors! We want to thank everyone who made this possible. Our officers are out on the streets handing out toys and making house stops all the way till Christmas. So be on the look out, you never know when one will stop by and hand you a toy.

We want to thank Mr.Rendon from JR's Collision for their amazing bike donation again this year to our toy drive! We always appreciate your support.

Just a reminder that the City of South Houston Christmas Parade is tonight and it starts at 7:00 P.M. The parade starts at Austin and College all the way down to Spencer and Allen Genoa. Main streets will start closing down around 6:30 P.M.

We want to thank the South Houston Municipal Court for bringing us all these toy donations for our Toy Drive!!! Our Officers will be out in full force starting next week and randomly giving out toys to the families in our community. We are still accepting toy or money donations at our Police Department. There is a lot more families in need this year more so then ever because of Hurricane Harvey, and that is why this year we hope to get as many donations as we can.

We are saddened by the death of Texas State Trooper Damon Allen, who was shot and killed on Thanksgiving afternoon while conducting a traffic stop. Trooper Allen was a husband and father to three children. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and may you rest in peace. End Of Watch 11/23/17

You've probably been hearing the term jugging on the news lately, this term is when someone is specifically targeted leaving a bank or an ATM and then either robbed or their vehicle is broken into. One such crime occurred today as the complainant left a Chase Bank on Edgebrook and stopped at the Union Grocery at 1544 College Avenue. The victims car window was shattered and the money was missing in a matter of minutes. Suspect vehicle is a Green with beige trim Ford F150. Be vigilant about your surroundings when making withdrawals at banks and ATMs. Contact the South Houston Police Department if you have any information on this incident at 713-944-1910.

It is that time of year again, our South Houston Police Officers' Association 2nd annual Toy Drive. We will need more help this year more so then last year because of Hurricane Harvey that affected so many families this year in our community. We would love to help out as many kids and families as we can. If you would like to donate please stop by our Police Department and make a donation. We want to thank all of those that donated and helped sponsor this event last year, we hope to count on your support again this year.

Come out and and trick or treat with us. We will have a decorated patrol car, candy and a game for the kids. The vehicles will be in the back street area behind City Hall and the Community Center. Hope you all stop by and have some fun with us.
