National Night Out (Texas Night Out for Texas) is an annual, nationwide neighborhood watch campaign. The program promotes involvement in local crime and drug prevention activities, strengthens police-community partnerships, and encourages neighborhood camaraderie as part of our national efforts to let criminals know that America is united and dedicated to building a safer, more caring country. This year Texas Night Out is scheduled for October 3, 2017. A "Going Away Party" for Crime National Night Out is held each year to encourage people throughout the nation to come outside and join their neighbors in giving neighborhood crime a “going away” party. Texas is the only state for now that is celebrating this program during the month of October. It is often referred to as Texas Night Out. Neighborhoods throughout Richland Hills are invited to host block parties throughout the evening during Texas Night Out. Those that register their party with the Richland Hills Police Department will get a visit from members of the Police Department and if registering by 9/25/17 will receive goodie bags for the children. You do not have to be a current Neighborhood Watch neighborhood to participate. National Night Out is for everyone! Register now and begin planning your event as soon as possible. http://www.richlandhills.com/departments/police-department/crime-prevention/texas-night-out To register your block party contact Captain Parsons at 817-616-3784 or sheenaparsons@richlandhills.com
