Thanks to City Church for the awesome luncheon and outreach to our police officers! It was very much appreciated!!

9-11 "Healing Field" Come see your Sandy K-9's in action from noon to 2 PM on Saturday September 10th.

With the terrible events that have occurred over the past few weeks in Texas and other states; we are reminded of the ultimate sacrifices that have been made by these officers. We truly mourn our lost and grieve with their families, co-workers and friends. We will continue to serve you. WE ARE YOU. We are a citizen police department. We are your family, your neighbors your friends. We want what you want; a safe place to live, an environment where civil interaction and mutual respect is the norm and not the exception. I believe that we do enjoy those things in Sandy City. I also would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your support of law enforcement. Just the other day my wife and I went to dinner for our anniversary. I worked my normal shift during the day and had another event I had to work in the evening. As a result we had a short window of time to grab dinner together and I was still in uniform. When the waiter brought our check he said that THREE people at different tables had asked to pick up our check. They asked to remain anonymous. I get emotional just thinking about it. While working I have been approached numerous times and thanked for doing my job. Many others have hosted lunch, dinner or brought a goodie into the police department. THANK YOU ALL!!! We know and feel your support. It is appreciated so very much!

http://www.ksl.com/?sid=39555141&nid=148&title=police-looking-for-aggressive-solicitors-walking-into-homes We have seen the same type of aggressive soliciting in Sandy over the years. Please call police if you are confronted. All solicitors are required to have a current business license from Sandy City. Also, that license must be carried by each individual on their person while conducting any soliciting.

We at the Sandy City Police Department express our condolences for the loss of K9 Aldo and to our brothers and sisters in blue at Unified Police Department. Most especially to Officer Luis Lovato for the loss of his partner and friend.
