Happy Easter Morton & Mossyrock

Good Morning Morton! Tonight is our Morton City Council Meeting. 7pm at the Bob Lyle Community Building. We hope to see many of you there.

Good evening Morton ! We would like to ask everybody help us keep the south side of Main Street between 1st and 3rd clear this evening so we can have the snow plowed and clean up the roadway tomorrow morning. Please help us to get this done so we can ensure that our roadways are safe and clear of the snow. Thank you your Morton Police Department

!! GOOD EVENING MORTON & MOSSYROCK !! This afternoon our agency along with assistance from the Lewis County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a student at the school, with a firearm. We did immediately enter the school armed. We take threats such of these seriously and will take immediate action to safeguard our children. Everyone at the school was safe and no one was hurt. After a thorough investigation it appears the initial report was based off of a statement made between students joking about a shooting. We would like to ask that all of our community and anyone reading this understand the seriousness of threats such as these, and understand that this is not a laughing matter. We ask that our students understand that this is not a joke. This is not funny. This is serious and lives are placed at risk with inappropriate comments, jokes or exaggerations. Anyone who makes substantiated threats or false reports will be charged accordingly. Our agency will never hesitate to respond, we are proud to serve our great communities. Please help us to keep them safe and informed that the Morton Police Department will handle each report as a real world event. Thank you for your support, Your Morton Police Department.

5 Officers. 6 Days. 5 Heroes. 5 Families These officers began their day like any of us. They had plans for the end of their shift. Bills to pay. Thoughts of what was for dinner, or breakfast for some of them. They never believed the sun would soon be setting on their lives as they walked out that door. Now numerous family members are struggling with how to handle the loss of their loved ones. Here in Morton & Mossyrock I truly believe that we are fortunate that we have these communities to serve. However each of us know better than to take any day for granted. There are very few words that can sum up how we feel every time we hear we have lost another brother or sister walking that Thin Blue Line. The sacrifices and challenges faced by each police officer or sheriff's deputy throughout our country is astounding. Yet each day they wake and again ready themselves to do it all over again. Please join us as we send our thoughts and prayers to the families I have lost so much in the past week. Lest we not forget our fallen comrades and protectors who committed their lives to meeting Darkness head on so that we can sleep peaceably in our beds. May God's angels guide them home to the Gates of Heaven. Please keep them and their families in your prayers. Thank you for all of your support. Sincerley, your Morton Police Department.
