Drunk Driver Ends Up in Lake Tye At 2:36 this morning, a 54 year old male from Monroe ended up with the nose of his vehicle in Lake Tye after he left Fryelands Blvd, striking a metal city owned statue and continued into the lake. Officers placed the driver under arrest and transported him to the Snohomish County Jail for booking on DUI charges. A tow was called to hoist the vehicle up from the Lake.

Fight downtown sends one to hospital At approximately 2:00 am Saturday morning Monroe Police Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress involving 6-8 subjects with a possible knife involved on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Main Street. Upon arrival officers found a 26 year old male who was standing up and talking but had a large wound to his head. One female was missing a handful of hair that she said had been pulled from her head during the melee. Witnesses stated the suspects had fled east on Main Street towards the 7-Eleven and went around the corner. Officers which included a K-9 tracker searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. A knife was found at the scene but there is no indication it was used in the altercation. The victim was taken to EvergreenHealth. This case remains under investigation. Crash just East of Main Street Officers attempted to stop a stolen gold Miata today at approximately 1:10 pm. The vehicle rapidly accelerated eastbound on SR 2 from Main Street and then hit the brakes just before he struck a Ford Excursion. The driver fled over the barrier and tumbled down a 40 ft embankment. Officers placed him in custody and worked with fire to hoist him up the embankment. He was transported to EvergreenHealth with minor injuries. His passenger was also taken to EvergreenHealth with a head injury. He is being transported to the Snohomish County Jail for booking on possession of stolen vehicle, eluding and vehicular assault charges.
