Upcoming Temporary Closure of the Lake Serene Trailhead on the Skykomish District
Everett, Wash. September 5th , 2017 —Due to upcoming timber harvest activity, The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest has issued a temporary closure order for the Lake Serene Trailhead beginning September 25th, 2017. A signed Forest Order outlines this temporary closure of the Lake Serene Trailhead and the entire length of the Lake Serene Trail including Bridal Veil Falls Trail.
The Lake Serene Trail is one of Washington’s most popular day hikes leading visitors through vibrant green forests to a serene lake. Due to the popularity of this trail, the safety of our forest users is of primary concern during an upcoming timber harvest on private land in the area. The temporary closure will protect public health and safety during logging activities and allow for needed trailhead outhouse and parking upgrades.
The temporary closure will begin September 25th, 2017 and will end after the timber harvest, replanting, and any other post-harvest trail repair activities are completed, but no later than July 1, 2018.
Please call our Skykomish District office for information on alternative recreational opportunities during the temporary closure.
