Green Bay Police Department News

Last Saturday, dozens of our officers, employees, and their families volunteered for the the 23rd Annual Shop With A Cop! Over 50 children participated in the Green Bay locations, which started with breakfast at McDonald's, shopping at Shopko for their families, and wrapping presents at the Boys and Girls Club. All transportation was provided by Lamers and their volunteer drivers. Thank you to Shopko, McDonald's, Green Bay Press Gazette, Mark Hawkins Photography, D. King of Images, Lamers, Ambrosius Studios, Saranac, Boys and Girls Club, and many community members and groups that donate to make this day possible. We would not be in our 23rd year without the support we receive!

This past week, three officers were awarded "Wings of Life" stickers on the honorary firefighter helmet on display at the Department. Officer Alex Carlson, Officer Joe Merrill and Officer Tom Denney responded to separate incidents of PNB (pulseless, non-breathing) patients upon responder arrival. Each officer participated in recusitation efforts, and each patient had a pulse and blood pressure upon arrival to the hospital. These patients are given the highest opportunity to survive due to these resuscitation efforts. The "Wings of Life" is awarded by Green Bay Metro Fire Chief Litton and Dr. McCarty.

In coordination with the Green Bay Police Department and the WI D.O.J Crime Lab (Wausau), we are excited to announce that two significant, independent cases, have been solved and charges are being referred to the Brown County District Attorneys Office on each of these cases. Case #2 Back on October 14th, 2017, at approx. 3:30am, a bartender was viciously assaulted by an unknown suspect as she was locking the doors to Jekyll and Hyde Bar at 226 S Broadway St. The female victim had just completed lockup procedures for this business and while in the parking lot, she was attacked, suffering severe head injuries leading to hospitalization. As the investigation began, CCTV footage was intensely analyzed, leading to a vehicle, and the subsequent arrest of Anthony D Oliver, a 53 yr. old Green Bay resident. Oliver is currently in jail on a probation hold with pending of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Battery and obstructing charges. With the assistance of the WI Crime lab (Wausau), forensic evidence collected from this crime, has linked Oliver to this crime.

In coordination with the Green Bay Police Department and the WI D.O.J Crime Lab (Wausau), we are excited to announce that two significant, independent cases, have been solved and charges are being referred to the Brown County District Attorneys Office on each of these cases. Case #1 Starting around October 2017, the Green Bay Police Department started receiving reports of burglaries to various businesses, churches and residences. Up until mid-November, approximately 8 more burglaries were reported, and evidence was collected, which led to a fingerprint of the suspect, Charles Moffett, a 45 yr. old Green Bay resident. Moffett was subsequently located and questioned, leading to clearing approximately 8 burglaries throughout the Green Bay area. Moffett was already on bond for a burglary in May of 2017, and is currently in the Brown County Jail on warrants and new charges related to these burglaries.
