Thank you to the D.C. Everest DECA students for stopping at the police department with this signed note of appreciation and basket of treats. It’s always nice to be appreciated.

The Rothschild Police Department would like to welcome Officer Matthew Loveless as the newest member of the Rothschild Police Department. Officer Loveless comes to the police department with several years of experience. We look forward to having him as part of our team. He will be a great asset to both the police department and the community.

Thank you to the students from John Muir Be Amazing Group for delivering these water bottles to the police department. The bottles were designed by community children during the Be Amazing Fall Festival. Pictured with the children are Chief Jeremy Hunt and Clerical Assistants Sandy Bates and Michele Dehnel.

Thank you to the DCE Middle School for dropping off a home-baked pumpkin pie for each of the officers and their families. Sgt. Jeff Zwicky is holding a couple of the pies. They look delicious.

In response to the tragic March 22, 2017 shootings in our community, Forrest Goetsch Charities wanted to recognize the Rothschild Police Department for their dedication in protecting and serving the community. Steve Goetsch presented a check for $2,500.00. The money will be used to support the Rothschild Police Department D.A.R.E. program. The charity is supported by the Forrest Goetsch Memorial run that is held annually in the Village of Weston. ( The Rothschild Police Department is thankful to have the support of Forrest Goetsch Charities. Thank you for all the amazing things you have done for the local communities.

With the start of the 2017-18 school year, D.A.R.E. classes will be underway shortly. The Everest Metro Police Department recently debuted their new D.A.R.E. car. BRB Auto Body completed the restoration of their vehicle, and several years ago, completed the Rothschild Police Department’s D.A.R.E. vehicle. We would like to thank BRB Auto Body for their dedication to the local school districts, as these vehicles will be part of our community for many years. Special thanks to Bill and Randy Yach, and Jason Wieloch.

Thank you to Dawn Dietsche, and the organizers of Thirty One Gifts, along with the long list of sponsors for the “Bags for the Blue” project. Each of our officers received a bag with their name and badge number on it, which was filled with a thank you note, water and snacks. They are very much appreciated.

The Rothschild Police Department would like to thank Christ Community Church's Vacation Bible School for the very sweet care packages for our officers. The thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

UPDATE: Thank you for everyone's assistance. The owner was located and the dog was safely returned home. This sweet gal was dropped off at the police department. She was found near the area of D.C. Everest High School, but she doesn't have any tags. Please call Rothschild Police Department at 359-3879 if you recognize this girl.

The Rothschild Police Department will be assisting with the escort of the AVTT Traveling Vietnam Wall today. The memorial starts in the City of Wausau, and will travel south on Business Highway 51, and will end up at Wausau Homes in the Village of Rothschild. The Celebration of Freedom event begins today at approximately 3:00 p.m. and runs through July 23, 2017.

Congratulations to Captain Kevin Ostrowski of the Rothschild Police Department for successfully completing Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College. We are all very proud of Kevin for his hard work and this major accomplishment. Great job, Kevin!

The Rothschild Police Department would like to welcome Michele Dehnel, as the newest member of the police department family, in our new Clerical Assistant II position. The Rothschild Police Department would also like to welcome the new Village Administrator, Gary Olsen, as well as the new RiverSide Fire District Chief, Kelly Hanink. We look forward to working with Michele, Gary and Kelly. They all bring the valued skills and abilities necessary to compliment the Village of Rothschild.

The Rothschild Police Department would like to thank the Everest Area Optimist Club for recognizing local area law enforcement officers. Receiving their 2016 Officer of the Year Awards from their respective departments are Officer Matthew Loveless from the Kronenwetter Police Department, Officer Nathan Zuelke from the Rothschild Police Department and Officer Brenda Pellowski from the Everest Metro Police Department. The officers were presented their awards on June 1, 2017. Congratulations to each officer.

The Rothschild Police Department began the 2017 Summer Season with a partnership with the Safe Kids Buckle Up Program. Special thanks to Texas Roadhouse for dropping off several boxes of warm bread and butter, along with a poster and thank you notes from employees and customers. It means a lot to all of us here at the police department.

We would like to thank Kristina LaPorte and Jen Gruna from Cellcom for making each officer an individual gift of lifesavers.

We want to bring recognition to Jason Weiland and his family with the Jason Weiland D.A.R.E. Award. The plaque was donated by Wausau Awards and Engraving for D.A.R.E. students at Evergreen Elementary. Every year an outstanding Evergreen Elementary D.A.R.E. student will have their name engraved on the award.
