Genoa City Police Department reports enforcement results from “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” impaired driving initiative
As part of state and national efforts to help keep roadways safe for all travelers, Genoa City officers made 64 traffic stops during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative from December 15, 2017 through January 1, 2018.
While the focus was on impaired drivers, officers also issued citations and made arrests during traffic stops for the following:
7 safety belt violations
22 speeding violations
2 operating after revocation or suspension violations
8 miscellaneous traffic citations
3 vehicle registration citations
Impaired or reckless drivers endanger everyone and are a tragedy waiting to happen. Although we make arrests and write citations as warranted, our primary goal is to encourage voluntary compliance with laws that are in place to help keep everyone as safe as possible.
