It’s May, which means we’re getting ready to flip the switch to our summer schedule. Here’s what you can expect for passenger trains this month:
May 3: Last day of the winter Hurricane Turn Train. Round-trip service from Anchorage to Hurricane Gulch, flagstop service north of Talkeetna.
May 5-6 & May 11-12: Last weekends of the Aurora Winter Train. North from Anchorage to Fairbanks on Saturday, return trip south on Sunday.
May 12: Coastal Classic Train begins: daily round-trip service between Anchorage, Girdwood and Seward.
May 16: Denali Star Train begins: daily service between Anchorage, Wasilla, Talkeetna, Denali and Fairbanks, northbound and southbound.
May 17: Summer Hurricane Turn begins: Thursday-Monday, round-trip flagstop service between Talkeetna and Hurricane Gulch.
May 26: Glacier Discovery Train begins: daily round-trip service between Anchorage, Girdwood, Whittier, Portage, Spencer Glacier and Grandview.
