MEDIA RELEASE On October 30, 2018, the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit was requested to assist the Foley Police Department with an apparent homicide. A maintenance employee of the Bay Villa Apartments on South Bay Street in Foley entered apartment 317 to work on a malfunctioning air conditioner. While in the apartment he discovered the tenant, deceased. The employee immediately notified Foley Police. Medical personnel arrived on the scene, they and law enforcement officers found Ronald Jeffery Higginbotham, 53, deceased of an apparent homicide. The investigation is in its early stages and no additional information is available at this time. Law Enforcement is asking for assistance from the public. If anyone has information about this homicide they are asked to contact either the Foley Police Department or the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Captain Stephen K. Arthur BCMCU

Today, the Baldwin County Sheriff's Corrections Command Staff was introduced to the Baldwin County Commission as representatives for all of the employees who work within the Corrections Center for being the second jail within the State of Alabama who is nationally accredited by the National Institute of Jail Operations. Deputy Brett Lee was sworn in by Sheriff Huey Hoss Mack and five new Corrections Officers began their stay with the Sheriff's Office. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Aramark, collected over $3000.00 in food, monetary donations for the Prodisee Pantry today. Thank you to everyone who came out to show support to our neighbors in need. Thank you to the local Bay Minette WalMart, Greers, and Piggly Wiggly for your assistance. All donations will be presented to Prodisee Pantry tomorrow after lunch.
Today Sheriff Mack had the pleasure of speaking to the students at Little Anchors Preschool.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office along with Aramark Food Services will be collecting and donating food to Prodisee Pantry to help feed the hungry. If you would like to help, please drop off your food donation at any of our Sheriff's Office locations by Sept. 19th or come by and visit us at the Wal-Mart, Greer's or Piggly Wiggly (Bay Minette locations only) on Sept. 20th.
