This is an event we all look forward to every year. It's a time of fun and fellowship and allows the community to get to know and interact with LEO's and their families, and see that officers/deputies like to have a little fun too! Candy Donations are appreciated! Please bring donations to the Sheriff's Department, Brent Police Dept, Centreville Police Dept, Woodstock Police Dept, or West Blocton Police Dept. See you there!

On 10/5/2018, Deputy Johnson stopped a vehicle for speeding on Hwy 5 at River Bend Spur. When Deputy Johnson approached the car he could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a probable cause search of the vehicle, Deputy Johnson found 4 large bags of Marijuana in the glove box. The driver, Dequan Morrow, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2nd and booked into Bibb County Jail.

On 10/11/2018, Deputy Wehrenberg responded to a call of suspicious activity in Lawley. Upon contact with the vehicle, the driver appeared very nervous and seemed to keep reaching for something. Deputy Johnson arrived with K-9 Bodie to perform a walk around of the vehicle in which he indicated on the drivers door on 2 separate occasions. Upon a search of the vehicle, a pipe with a white crystal substance inside it along with several bags of Crystal Meth was found. A set of brass knuckles, that are also used as a knife, was also found in a pocket on the driver seat. Daniel Clifton Leverette, 31, was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Brass Knuckles and booked into Bibb County Jail.

Television stations WVUA 23 and WIAT 42 was in town today to do a story on Deputy Brad Johnson and K-9 Bodie. The story will air on both stations tonight at 6pm. Be sure and tune in!

On 10/1/2018, Deputy Johnson, K-9 Bodie and Deputy Baugh was called to assist Centreville PD on a car chase and a suspect fled in foot. Deputy Johnson arrived on scene and was asked to run a track with K-9 Bodie. K-9 Bodie tracked the suspect around the house to the front door of a residence. After a search of the residence, suspect Harry Taylor, was found hiding in a back bedroom and was taken into custody without further incident and booked into Bibb County Jail. Great job to Centreville PD, Bibb County Sheriffs Dept and Brent PD.

On 9/28/2018, Deputy Johnson and K-9 Bodie was called to assist Centreville PD on a traffic stop. Once on scene, Deputy Johnson was asked to do an exterior search of the vehicle with K-9 Bodie. Upon the search, K-9 Bodie indicated on the odor of Narcotics coming from the vehicle and indicated by the driver door. Now with probable cause to search the vehicle, Centreville Officer Shirley, Deputy Johnson and Reserve Deputy Lawley located several syringes and a liquid substance in the tip of a rubber glove. The suspect was charged accordingly and booked into the Bibb County Jail. Good job to Centreville Officer Shirley, Deputy Johnson, K-9 Bodie, Reserve Deputy Lawley and Brent Officer Sievering.

On 9/28/2018, Deputy Johnson and K-9 Bodie was called to assist West Blocton PD on a traffic stop. When Deputy Johnson arrived on the stop he was asked to use K-9 Bodie to do an exterior search of the truck. After starting the search K-9 Bodie indicated on the passenger side of the truck and indicated on the passenger seat. Meth, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia was located in the truck. Three suspects were charged and booked into Bibb County Jail. We would like to say good job to West Blocton Officer Barber and our very own Deputy Johnson and K-9 Bodie for all their hard work getting drugs off the street. Good job guys.

On 8/29/2018, Deputy Wehrenberg was patrolling an area trying to locate a subject with felony warrants. When a vehicle with no tag pulled into the residence of the person of interest, Deputy Wehrenberg pulled in to investigate. He noticed 2 needles in the driveway that appeared to have been thrown out of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Crystal Meth, pills, and paraphernalia was found in the vehicle and the passenger, a 27yo male from Hueytown, was charged with Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and placed into the Bibb County Jail.

On August 8, 2018, a call came in about a dog abandoned inside a metal cage on the side of the road. The dog, which was named "Hope" by the staff at Veterinary Hospital of Centreville, is in recovery and receiving treatment with the help of Friends of Bibb County ALabama Pound. Bibb County Sheriff's Department has conducted an investigaion and is seeking any information about the case. We are continuing to follow up with Hope and her recovery process. The public is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Dept with any information that will lead to a future arrest. Investigator Robinson and Deputy Lawley are working this case.

We will meet with the communities that are interested on Saturdays at 10 am.

Update: Hwy 5 is now open. Highway 5 just north of Schultz Creek is completely shut down due to accident until further notice. Traffic is being re-routed at Hwy 5/82 and Hwy 5/219.
