PRESS RELEASE 9-26-2018 Suspect Located On September 20, 2018, the Pine Bluff Police Department asked for your help in locating Marcella Romack. Romack was wanted for First Degree Battery. On September 24, 2018, Romack was located and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. PRESS RELEASE Altercation Leads to a shot 7-year-old 09/25/2018 On 09/25/2018 at about 8:00 p.m. there was apparently an altercation of some kind inside of a green Chevrolet Avalanche while at the red light located at 28th and Catalpa Street. Shots were fired inside the vehicle and a passenger fled on foot. As the passenger fled shots were fired at him and bullets struck another vehicle not involved in the original altercation. In that car was a 7-year-old girl and her grandparents. The girl was struck in the arm and leg with what is described as minor non-life threatening wounds. She was taken to the local hospital where she was treated and released. The passenger was located and it was discovered he had been shot in the hand. PRESS RELEASE 09/25/2018 Homicide Vehicle Located On 09/24/2018 we released a photo of the suspect vehicle from the homicide at 26th and Olive Street. At about 9:00 p.m. on the same day a car was found burning inside the carport of an unoccupied residence at 1721 S. Texas St in Pine Bluff. Due to the extensive fire damage the car was not identified until late Tuesday afternoon. The car was a 2012 gray Honda Accord that had been reported stolen in North Little Rock on 09/21/2018. Shell casings were found inside the car that match the caliber and type recovered at the scene of the homicide. The Pine Bluff Police Department would like to thank everyone who has been calling with information regarding this vehicle. We are confident that the vehicle we have is the suspect car so we are cancelling the request for information regarding this vehicle. PRESS RELEASE 09/24/2018 Shooting leaves one dead and one injured. Additional Information The family of the deceased has been notified so we can now confirm his identity as 29-year-old Courtney Lane of Pine Bluff. It has come to our attention that a social media site reported on the identity of the deceased earlier in the day. That man identified in that release was not the correct name. The Detective Office has also released an image from a surveillance camera that captured the shooting. Due to the graphic nature of the video it is not being released at this time but a still image has been released. The gray car within the red circle is the suspect vehicle. That photo is being released in the hopes someone will be able to identify the persons responsible for this murder. As stated before the area of 26th and Olive Street, at the time this occurred, is a very busy street. PRESS RELEASE 09/24/2018 Shooting leaves one dead and one injured. At about 11:30 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of 26th and Olive Street in reference to shooting. A patrol officer arrived within a few seconds and found a gray Honda Accord in the parking lot of a business at the northeast corner of the intersection. One adult male was taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries. The other was pronounced dead on the scene. Names are being withheld until we can confirm next of kin has been notified. At this time there is no suspect information. The area of 26th and Olive Street at the time this occurred is a very busy street. PRESS RELEASE 9-20-2018 FIRST DEGREE BATTERY SUSPECT WANTED The Pine Bluff Police Department is asking for your help with locating a first degree battery suspect, 25-year-old Marcella Romack. On September 17, 2018 around 2 p.m., Romack stabbed a male multiple times then fled the scene. The males’ friend attempted to take him to the hospital, but the male passed out at the intersection of Sulphur Springs and Oakwood Road. The male was found by officers at that intersection. PRESS RELEASE 09/19/2018 Fast Acting Patrol Catches Robbery Suspect A pair of Robbery suspects had a short-lived escape Wednesday morning following a robbery of a local convenience store. At about 10:15 a.m. dispatch received a call reporting the Shell Food Mart at 6708 Sulphur Springs Road had been robbed at gunpoint. As patrol officers were responding to the scene the suspect vehicle was identified as a red Chevrolet Pick-up. Officer Jim Miller had just turned from Camden Road onto Sulphur Springs when he saw a red Chevrolet Pick-up turn north onto Oakwood Road and proceed at a high rate of speed. Officer Miller then initiated a traffic stop on the truck. While doing this, a witness to the robbery came up to him and confirmed the truck he had was the correct suspect. Two women, 25-year-old Deborah Batson and 23-year-old Patricia Beene were taken into custody. With the assistance of other officers the stolen cash and a BB gun believed to be the one used in the robbery were recovered. Both women have been booked into the Jefferson County Jail for Aggravated Robbery. Ms. Batson was also booked on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The Pine Bluff Police Department couldn’t be happier with the speed and efficiency at which this robbery was solved. The Pine Bluff Police are asking for help in identifying the man in these photos. He is wanted in reference to Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property. On 09/09/2018 a local resident on Edmar Drive discovered their storage shed and been broken into and items missing. Stolen were a weed eater and a chain saw. Anyone with information as to who this person is is asked to contact the Detective Division at 870-730-2090.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is asking for help in identifying the suspect in these photos, who is wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery. The robbery occurred at Chapel Food Mart, 5901 Sulphur Springs Road, on August 25, 2018 around 9:00 p.m. The male entered into the store and held the clerk at gunpoint. The male then left the store with a safe with an unknown amount of money. We are aware the male is covered, but the clothing may look familiar. Ms. Green was the first female Pine Bluff Police Officer before going to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to finish out a law enforcement career that spanned 25 years. 8-28-2018 Breaking or Entering of a Garage The Pine Bluff Police Department is asking for help in identifying the suspect in these photos. The male is wanted for the crime of Breaking or Entering of a garage in the area of JRMC and the Pine Bluff Country Club. On August 26, 2018, the male could be seen on a video camera taking a propane tank, leaf blowers, a power washer and other items from the garage. PRESS RELEASE 08/27/2018 Gunfire Leaves One Dead and Three Injured At about 1:00 a.m. officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to the area of 34th and Fir Streets in reference to shots fired in the area. While enroute the officers were directed to 2600 W 34th Ave in reference to someone having been shot. Officers arrived and found multiple people with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 36-year-old male, was dead on scene. Two victims with gunshot wounds left the scene and transported themselves to an undisclosed hospital in Little Rock. The fourth victim was transported by ambulance to JRMC in Pine Bluff with serious but not life threatening injuries. Based on information gathered to this point a vehicle approached the house and an occupant opened fire on victims that were outside. The investigation is in its early stages and detectives are conducting interviews. Names are withheld at this time pending further investigation and next of kin. PRESS RELEASE 08/26/2018 Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead On 08/26/2018 at about 10:16 a.m. officers responded to the area of 19th and Amis Street in reference to a shooting. When they arrived they found a male victim in a yard who had received several gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries shortly after going into surgery. At this time it appears three or four male subjects walked up from 18th Avenue and at least one of them began firing at the victim. They then fled on foot going east on 18th Avenue. A motive is unknown at this time. The victim’s name is being withheld until family notifications are made. The investigation is still early and Detectives are conducting interviews.
