On March 13, 2018 at approximately 3:15 PM, Marion County 911 operators received a call alleging that an unknown male individual was armed with a shotgun and was en route to Mountain Home Public Schools to “shoot it up.” Marion County 911 operators were able to triangulate the call to have been made near the Flippin High School, at which time officers from the Flippin Police Department were dispatched. Marion County 911 Operators also contact the Mountain Home Police Department and informed them of the alleged threat.
Upon conducting a search of the area, a juvenile suspect was located and subsequently admitted that he was the individual who had made the 911 call. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile informed officers that the call was a hoax and that he was simply trying to play a prank. The juvenile was ultimately charged with communicating a false alarm. At this time, there is no known threat to any of our local schools. The Flippin Police Department was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Mountain Home Police Department.
