Jacksonville, AR. (October 16, 2018) – The Jacksonville Police Department is advising that traffic related to the Air Show, October 27-28 will be heavy and cause delays for our community. Jacksonville citizens should avoid the intersections of North First and T.P. White as well as John Harden drive and Vandenberg. Traffic lanes and turn lanes at these intersections will be altered. These intersections will see a large amount of traffic exiting 67/167 at the Air Base exits, North and Southbound. It is our officer’s responsibility and priority to move the visitors to our city through town and onto the Air Force Base with as little delay as possible. If you travel through one of these major intersections, you can expect to be delayed in order for us to avoid backing traffic up on 67/167 causing a dangerous situation. Please attempt to use the James Street overpass to cross the highway and T.P. White drivers should take a detour at Gregory Street. T.P. White at the Air Base Exit Northbound (behind Sonic) will be closed. Detour signs will be placed at Gregory Street.
