On February 1, 2018 officers with the De Queen Police Department, Arkansas State Police and the South Central Drug Task Force executed a search and seizure warrant at 616 S. 9th St in De Queen just after 6 a.m. During the execution of the search and seizure warrant officers seized approximately 485 grams (1.10 pounds) of high grade marijuana, $4612 cash, 2 handguns and drug paraphernalia to weigh, package and store marijuana. Officers arrested Jonathan “Johnny” Rodriquez, 18 years of age. Rodriquez was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Purpose to Deliver more than 4 ounces but less than 25 pounds which is a class C felony, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms which is a class Y felony, Possession of a Defaced Firearm which is a class D felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia which is a class D felony.
High grade marijuana sells for approximately $20 a gram in Dequeen Arkansas. The approximate street value of the marijuana seized is $9,700.00. During an interview with Jonathan Rodriguez he admitted to selling marijuana in Dequeen Arkansas for approximately 1 year.
