NPD wants you to know our officers: K9 Deuce Deuce is a 6 year old Belgium Malinois. Deuce was born in the Netherlands. He started with NPD in 2013. Deuce is trained in narcotic detection, handler protection, criminal apprehension, building searches and tracking. Deuce loves coming to work and keeping Nogales safe.

Red Ribbon Week came to an end today. To see our children pledging to be "Drug Free" is an awesome sight. Thank you to all our presenters and schools for participating in this years events.

This week NPD is honoring Red Ribbon Week at all of our local schools. NPD is teaching our children to remain "Drug Free" and to make the right choices in life.

Rain is falling hard. The streets are flooding. Please avoid flooded areas. Some streets are blocked, do not drive around barricades. Drive slowly and safely.

NPD is partnering up with DEA for the Prescription Pill Take Back Event. NPD will have a disposal bin inside the front lobby, from Monday, Oct. 22-Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018. If you have any unused pills please bring them and dispose of them properly. Please no liquid medications.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. If you see it or hear it, report it. NPD has zero tolerance for domestic violence.

NPD wants to thank Arizona@Work Santa Cruz Workforce for inviting us the the job fair yesterday.

The Nogales Police Department in partnership with the Mariposa Community Health Center and in collaboration with Dr. Pereira and his staff, the Nogales Police Department is taking a proactive approach and equipping officers with Naloxone. Officers will, now carry Naloxone commonly known as Narcan. The purpose of Narcan is to reduce fatal opiate/opioid overdoses.

Road Closure Notice.... The City of Nogales will be closing North Hohokam Drive, from the old Sheriffs Dept north to the City of Nogales Pubic Works building. This will be starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, at 6:00 am through Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 12:00 pm. The projected time for construction will be approx 10 days. Please find alternate routes.

NPD wants to thank the family of the participants and community leaders for showing their support for our Citizens Police Academy graduation. It was a great turn out for the graduation.

NPD made history last night by having its 1st EVER Citizens Police Academy graduation. These 16 participants were part of an extensive educational program that informed them of the many aspects, divisions and operational objectives that the police department utilizes on a daily basis. This Citizens Police Academy set the foundation to an array of future volunteer opportunities and continued partnerships between the Nogales Police Department and the community that we serve! Congrats NPD CPA Class 2018-1.

NPD would like to thank HSI/ HIDTA for providing our K9's with Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK).The IFAK's contain many items for our K9's in case of any medical emergency such as Toxiban, Gauze, Narcan and a Tourniquet.

Today is National Situational Awareness Day. Situational awareness is being aware of what is happening around you in terms of where you are, where you are supposed to be and whether anyone or anything around you is a threat to your health and safety. Be safe.
