Join the SCC Sheriff's Office and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force for National Take-Back Medication Day! The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th at the Garrett's Supermarket from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM! The event offers a safe method to dispose of your unused, unwanted, and expired medications!

The SCC Sheriff's Office annual Halloween candy giveaway is fast approaching and this year we want to make the event even larger than last year! If you wish to contribute to this joyous and exciting event, feel free to drop off candy contributions at our offices no later than October 27th!

Join us for a great opportunity to have your children's car seat inspected! See you all there!

Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy for our former Sergeant Jose Francisco Sepulveda, who served with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office from September 16th, 1971 – September 29th, 2006. Our most heartfelt condolences are with the Sepulveda family.

The SCC Sheriff's Office, with support from the Arizona Sheriff's Association (ASA) is participating in a shoe drive in which gently worn, used or new shoes will be collected as a fundraiser to enhance training opportunities for deputies and detention officers! ASA will earn funds based on the total weight of pairs of donated shoes that are collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for collected shoes to be used for training programs for the men and women who protect and serve Arizona! The fundraiser begins September 1st with a goal of collecting 25 pairs of shoes!

It is with a heavy heart that the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office mourns the death of former NPD Chief and Metro Task Force Commander Ramon "Rudy" Acevedo. Mr. Acevedo served as the Metro Task Force Commander from February 1991 - March 1993. Our condolences are with the Acevedo family.

It is with a heavy heart that the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office mourns the untimely death of one of our community’s peace officers. NPD Officer Cordova tragically lost his life yesterday in the line of duty. Our prayers are with the Cordova family.

After a week-long celebration of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, SCCSO wishes to once again thank our Communications Division for their contribution to public safety! Among the tokens of appreciation, the Communications Division participated in a Spirit Week where officers were allowed to dress with their favorite superhero, sports team, western, and Hawaiian attire. The grueling task that these professionals undertake on a daily basis does not go unnoticed and we wish to thank the community for helping us celebrate these individuals and the extraordinary job that they do!

To the many men and women of our Communications Division...we wish to thank you for your endless and selfless service that you provide to our community...This is your special week but know that you are appreciated yearlong! Happy National Telecommunicators Week!
