California State Sheriffs' Association presented retired Inyo County Sheriff, Bill Lutze with the official CSSA retired sheriff jacket this weekend. Lutze retired in July of this year after over 40 years of service with the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office. Update: A big THANK YOU to the fast response of all fire personnel. Fire is out and mop-up is underway. Brush fire by south-bound lane near Little Lake area - the origin appears to be a semi-truck. Currently Hwy 395 is open, but please be cautious of responders. Resources include: Olancha Fire, Lone Pine Fire, Independence Fire, CalFire, Sheriff’s Office, CHP, CalTrans, BLM and Forest Service.

Another fantastic multiagency response. This afternoon Inyo Sheriff was dispatched to the Fossil Falls area to assist in locating an 82 year old female who was lost. The subject was located and walked out to her vehicle. A big THANK YOU goes out to BLM, CHP, and DWP.

Inyo Search and Rescue assisting with the search for missing 16-year old Karlie Guse. Guse was last seen the morning of 10/13/18 in the White Mountain Estate area in Mono County. Both aerial and ground searches are being conducted along US Highway 6. Agencies participating in the search include Inyo SAR, Mono SAR, Forest Service, Inyo Sheriff, Mono Sheriff, and aerial recon provided by China Lake Naval Station.
