On October 27, 2017, the Monterey Police Department lost Sergeant Doug Holley, 49, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Doug was a Detective Sergeant and SWAT team leader with the Stockton Police Department for over 18 years. After his youngest son graduated high school, Doug and his wife moved to the Monterey peninsula where he and his wife had married years before. Doug joined the Monterey Police Department where he served as a patrol officer, Community Action Team officer and later became a sergeant. Doug was a great friend and co-worker and we are greatful to have had the opportunity to serve alongside him. Doug is survived by his wife, sons, mother and father, brother, sister, and two grandchildren. Doug, you are greatly missed. Thank you for your service to the community.
