Excellent decision and well deserved.

Not knowing how successful the Pink Patch project would be the Blythe Police Officers’ Association ordered 100 patches. We are happy to say they completely sold out in four days! More are ordered, but unfortunately turn around time is about three weeks. Thank you to everyone who supported this cause. We will update when the new patches are in, (hint: the new ones were changed slightly).

The Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer. It is estimated that approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. The program centers on vibrant pink versions of the public safety officer's uniform patch. These bright pink patches have been specially designed by members of the Blythe Police Department specifically for the Pink Patch Project campaign. Members of each of the participating agencies wear these pink patches on their regular uniforms for the entire month of October each year during “Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” The pink patches are intended to stimulate conversation with the community and to encourage public awareness about the importance of early detection and the on-going fight against this disease. How Can You Support the Pink Patch Project? Starting today the Blythe Police Officers’ Association will be selling our Pink Patch for $10.00 each. The proceeds from the sale of the Pink Patches will go directly to the Blythe Cancer Resource Center and the B.P.O.A. Widows & Orphans Fund. Please stop by the Blythe Police Department during regular business hours to purchase a Pink Patch, and support local Blythe cancer patients.
