National Prescription Drug Take Back Day This Saturday The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. Your local disposal site is the Ripon Police Department, 259 N. Wilma Ave., front parking lot this Saturday, October 27, from 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM.

Department Activity On Thursday, at 5:20 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a call for service at the park located 1201 W. River Rd. for a public assist. During the incident a subject, identified as Charles Ragsdale (61 years of Modesto), was found to be in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage. He was issued a citation and released at the scene. On Friday, at 11:20 AM, SRO Trevor McGinnis responded to a call for service at the high school located 301 N. Acacia Ave. for a student in possession of a smoking device. On arrival the device was determined to contain marijuana. The student, a juvenile of Ripon, was issued a citation and released from the scene to a parent/guardian. On Friday, at 3:07 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the business located at 1442 W. Colony Rd. on a report of a subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle parked in front of the business. On arrival the subject, identified as Fernando Gavilanez (25 years of Modesto), was contacted. During the incident he was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Further investigation found him to be in possession of prescribed pills without a prescription and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. On Friday, at 9:30 PM, Officer Matthew Belaski was on patrol in the area of the 300 block of E. Main St. and observed a subject whom he recognized had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject, Taylor Coss (36 years of Ripon), was taken into custody without incident and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Sunday, at 4:23 AM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to the area of N. Jack Tone Rd. and W. Main St. on a report of a vehicle driving on its rim (no tire). Officers located the vehicle in the area and contacted the driver, identified as Kristopher Waldon (23 years of Denair). During the course of the investigation it was determined he was operating the vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Monday, at 5:58 AM, Ripon Officers were dispatched the business located at 1553 W. Colony Rd. on a report of subject asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle parked at the fuel pumps. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as Sasha Conklin (24 years of Bakersfield). During the contact she was found to be in possession of an amount of Methamphetamine, prescribed pills without a prescription, and drug paraphernalia. She was taken into custody and later released on a citation.

Department Activity On Monday, at 7:15 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 100 block of Second St. on a report of a subject in distress. Upon arrival officers made contact with the subject, identified as a male adult of Ripon. The subject was taken into protective custody without incident and transported to a local hospital. On Tuesday, at 00:31 AM, Officer Alex Contreras conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of River Rd. and N. Ripon Rd. for a traffic violation. On contact with the occupants of the vehicle one of the subjects, identified as Samantha Archuleta (36 years of Riverbank), provided a false name to officers. She was also later determined to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 7:18 AM, FTO Leroy Sanchez was on patrol in the area of N. Jack Tone Rd. and Santos Ave. and observed a vehicle parked in the area in violation of a City Ordinance. Upon contact with the subject associated with the vehicle, identified as Derick Spence (49 years of Vernalis), he was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 11:53 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a call of suspicious activity in the alleyway near the 200 block of S. Walnut Ave. Upon arrival officers located a subject, identified as Tiffany Barrickman (35 years of Ripon) in the vehicle parked at the location. During the contact an amount of Methamphetamine, an amount of Heroin, and burglary tools were discovered in her possession. She was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Wednesday, at 4:55 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1400 block of Harvest Dr. on a report of a subject in distress. Upon arrival officers made contact with the subject, identified as a female adult of Ripon. The subject was taken into protective custody without incident and transported to a local hospital.

Police Department Investigates Social Media Post This morning, at 10:34 AM, the Ripon Police School Resource Officer was contacted by students who saw a non-specific photo posted on a shared Instagram account. SRO McGinnis and Detective Francis began to investigate the social media post and interviewed several students. Earlier this afternoon the student responsible for the post was identified and was interviewed by officers and school staff, which included an assessment of the student. It was determined that a threat did not exist at this time, although the Instagram account and photo were inappropriate. As always the safety and security of our schools is are utmost priority. As these types of incidents become more frequent across the nation, the department would ask for parents to continually speak with their children about the appropriateness of social media posts and content, and monitor internet activities of their students. Prohibited Person found in Possession of Firearm On Tuesday, at 6:00 PM, Ripon Officers were informed possible suspects in a crime that occurred in another jurisdiction were in our city. Officers located a vehicle with the possible suspects in the 500 block of N. Stockton Ave. During the contact officers located a loaded revolver, an amount of Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. A subject, identified as Joseph Perriera (64 years of Lodi) was taken into custody for possession of the firearm and host of other firearm related charges, including possession by prohibited person and possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Perriera was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. Another subject, identified as Justin McFarlin (35 years of Ripon), was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation for possession of an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Department Activity On Thursday, at 11:15 AM, Officer Kyle Prather was on patrol in the area of the 700 block of E. Main St. and conducted a bicycle stop for a traffic violation. During the contact the subject, identified as Taylor Coss (36 years of Ripon), was found to be in possession of an amount of Heroin. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Friday, at 1:05 AM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to the area of Gilbert Dr. and E. Frontage Rd. on a report of a disturbance. On arrival officers contacted two subjects that were involved. During the contact one subject, identified as Joshua Conboy (25 years of Stockton), was determined to have a warrant out for his arrest. He was also determined to have caused damage to private property in the area. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Friday, at 8:07 AM, Ripon Officers responded to a report of a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Clemens Ct. On arrival officers determined that a subject, identified as an adult male of Ripon, was in distress. He was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Friday, at 11:42 AM, Officer Kyle Prather responded to a residence for an assault that had occurred in the 200 block of W. Washington St. During the course of the investigation the suspect, identified as a Ripon juvenile), was contacted. He was issued a citation and released into the custody of a parent. On Saturday, at 3:00 AM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision in the area of the Main Street Over Cross. On arrival officers contacted the driver of the vehicle, identified as Zane Oakes (20 years of Florida), in the area. During the course of the investigation it was determined he was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Saturday, 9:52 AM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1500 block of W. Main St. for a warrant service. On arrival officers contacted the suspect, Rachel Delgadillo (37 years of Ripon). She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Saturday, 9:21 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 700 block of S. Acacia Ave. on a report of subject in distress. On arrival officers were contacted by a subject, identified as a Ripon adult. He was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Sunday, at 6:03 PM, Officer Alex Contreras conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the Main Street Over Cross for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Gerardo Diaz (27 years of Elk Grove), was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Monday, at 00:31 AM, Officer Alex Contreras was on patrol in the area of S. Stockton Ave. and Second St. and observed subjects a vehicle parked at a closed business. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle a subject, identified as Vincent Bennett (21 years of Ripon), was determined to be in possession of an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation.

Department Activity On Monday, at 9:24 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 500 block of E. Wind Dr. on a report of a subject in distress. Upon arrival officers made contact with the subject, an adult female of Ripon. During the contact officers confirmed the circumstances. She was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Tuesday, at 7:24 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1200 block of Sapphire Ct. on a report of a trespasser on the property. Upon arrival officers contact the subject, identified as Marylynn Wheeler-Reynolds (63 years of San Jose). The reporting party signed an affidavit of arrest and Wheeler-Reynolds was taken into custody. She was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. On Wednesday, at 8:34 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a report of a possible vandalism to a sign located on the property of 803 Ripona Ave. and the illegal discarding of property at the same location. Upon arrival officers made contact with a subject who was described by the reporting party. As the subject, identified as David Haslett (32 years of Ripon), was contacted he became argumentative and threatened an officer. While being taken into custody the subject actively resisted. He was later transported and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. On Wednesday, at 8:26 PM, Officer Alex Contreras was on patrol in the area of 1453 W. Colony Rd. performing a security check of the business. Officer Contreras observed a subject, identified as Dewayne Thompson (39 years of Manteca), that he was aware had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Thompson was contacted and taken into custody without incident. He was released at the scene on a citation. On Wednesday, at 11:07 PM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to the area of Second St. and S. Stockton Ave. on a report of possible drug activity. On arrival officers located a male subject, identified as Vincent Bennett (21 years of Ripon). Bennett fled on foot from officers. After a brief foot pursuit Bennet complied with officers and was detained. A second subject, identified as Eliah Delgadillo (19 years of Ripon), was contacted in the apartment complex laundry mat located at 228 S. Walnut Ave. She was found to have drug paraphernalia in her possession. She was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. Bennet was taken into custody for a violation of a restraining order and obstruction, and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Thursday, at 00:42 AM, Ripon Officers responded to 1501 N. Jack Tone Rd. on a report of a trespassing violation. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as Joshua Johnson (47 year old transient). An Affidavit of Private Persons Arrest was signed by an employee of the business. Johnson was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation.

Department Activity On Thursday, at 8:35 PM, Officer Matthew Belaski was on patrol performing a security check of the business located at 1501 N. Jack Tone Rd. He observed a subject, identified as Marvin Lewis (52 years of Ripon), who had a stay away order from the location. Lewis was contacted and taken into custody. He was transported to the police department where he was booked and released on a citation. On Friday, at 3:58 PM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to the business located at 856 N. Jack Tone Rd. on a report of suspicious persons inside the store. On arrival officers contacted four subjects. During the contact two of the subjects, identified as Christine Steele (43 years of Modesto) and Matthew Quale (36 years of Modesto), were determined to possession of illegal items. Steele was found to be in possession of an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Quale was found to be in possession of a billy club. Both subjects were taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Friday, at 11:10 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a report of a subject causing a verbal disturbance in the area of the 200 block of Third St. On arrival officers contact the subject, identified as Rocio Rubio (40 years of Ripon). During an investigation into the incident, it was determined Rubio had entered the residence without permission, when the tenants arrived home a confrontation occurred. Rubio was taken into custody and transported to the police department where she was booked and later released on a citation. On Saturday, at 00:59 AM, Ripon Officers responded to a subject in distress in the 500 block of E. Wind Dr. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as an adult female of Ripon. She was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Saturday, at 3:11 AM, Ripon Officers observed a vehicle stopped partially in the roadway in the area of E. Frontage Rd. and N. Acacia Ave. Upon contact with the vehicle officers observed a subject, identified as Michelle Alaya (32 years of Manteca), asleep in the driver’s seat. After contact Alaya awoke and put the vehicle into reverse. After several commands officers were able to secure Alaya and the vehicle from further movement. During the course of the investigation Alaya was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Saturday, at 6:01 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1400 block of Grange Way on a reported of a subject in distress. On arrival officers contacted a subject, identified as an adult female of Ripon. She was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Sunday, at 11:36 PM, Officer Alex Contreras was on patrol in the area of S. Stockton Ave. and Second St. He observed a vehicle parked with its lights off and engine running in the parking lot of the business located at 106 Second St. The vehicle and its occupants, identified as Daniel Eavenson (33 years of Ripon) and Matthew Faltisek (33 years of Ripon), were contacted. During the contact Eavenson was found to be in possession of a billy club and an amount of Methamphetamine, while Faltisek was found to be in possession of a burglary tool. Both subjects were taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation.

Department Activity On Monday, at 11:17 PM, Officer Alex Contreras was on patrol in the area of N. Manley Rd. and E. Main St. and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation. During the contact the driver, identified as John Deathriage-Walton (25 years of Ripon), was determined to be unlicensed. The passenger of the vehicle, identified as Samantha Dyer (28 years of Ripon) was found to be on probation. A search of Dyer revealed an amount of Methamphetamine, an amount of Heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Additional drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. Both subjects were taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 2:03 AM, Officer Matthew Belaski was on patrol in the area of the 1500 block of W. Colony Rd. and contacted a hitchhiker at the location. During the contact the subject, identified as Samuel Eisele (23 years of Lancaster), admitted that he was in possession of an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The items were recovered and he was taken into custody. Eisele was released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 8:43 AM, Ripon Officers responded to 1000 Stouffer St. (Stouffer Park) on a report of a subject sleeping in the restrooms. On arrival the subject, identified as Edward Ortiz (48 year old transient), was contacted by officers. During the contact he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the Ripon Police Department where he was booked and later released on a citation. On Tuesday, at 1:18 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a call of a subject rummaging through garbage cans in the alley way behind the 100 block of Second St. On arrival officers contact the subject, identified as Jonathan Deathriage (32 years of Ripon). During the contact a probation search was conducted. During the search an amount of heroin, controlled substance without a prescription, and drug paraphernalia were located in his possession. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 11:06 PM, Officer Matthew Belaski was on patrol in the area of the Main Street Overpass and observed a subject, identified as Samuel Deathriage (26 years of Ripon), who he recognized to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was contacted and taken into custody without incident. After being taken into custody drug paraphernalia was located in his possession. He was later transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Wednesday, at 1:21 PM, FTO Leroy Sanchez responded to a call of a vehicle with an unsecure load and driving erratic in the area of Hughes Ln. and Pecan Dr. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. During the contact the driver, identified as Kenneth Hemmer (48 years of Stockton), was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation.

2018 September Crime Maps The department has posted the September 2018 crime maps. The maps can be individually seen by viewing the web link on the department website or clicking on the link below. The department saw a decrease of 19% in Part 1 Crimes committed year-to-date through September 2018 (247) compared to year-to-date 2017 (304), having a total of 57 less Part 1 crimes reported. http://www.riponpd.org/?p=4036

Suspects in Custody On Monday, at 12:30 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the Walgreen’s located at 102 N. Jack Tone Rd. on a report of a shoplifting in progress. As officers arrived on scene the suspects discarded bags of merchandise and attempted to separate from each other. Officers detained the suspects, who were later identified as Ashanay Yerger (22 years of Sacramento), Shalonta Jones (24 years of Sacramento), and Ruby Augustus (24 years of Sacramento). The recovered merchandise was valued at over $3,000. After confirmation of their identity, the female identified as Augustus was determined to have nine warrants out for her arrest. The charges on these were warrants were theft related. The individual identified as Jones was determined to have two warrants out for her arrest. These warrants were also theft related. She was also found to be on probation for theft related offenses. The individual identified as Yerger had one outstanding warrant for her arrest. This warrant was also theft related. All three suspects were transported and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on several charges that include attempted grand theft, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, their individual warrants, and one suspect (Yerger) for providing false identification and impersonating another. During the course of the investigation, the suspects were linked to two other similar type thefts from earlier in the day in Lathrop and Stockton. A search of their vehicle revealed the stolen property from these locations. The recovered property was valued at several thousand dollars. The suspects were also individually or as a group determined to be associated with as many as three other thefts from retail stores in Ripon, and many more thefts from up and down the central valley. Ripon Detectives are currently working with other jurisdictions that have had similar style thefts with suspects matching their descriptions. The items shown in the attached picture were recovered from bags the suspects possessed in the Ripon store.

Department Activity On Thursday, at 4:42 PM, Sgt. Stephen Meece conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of the 1400 block of W. Main St. for a seat belt violation. During the contact the driver, identified as Harry Tyson (51 of Manteca), was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest, and an open container of alcohol. He was taken in custody and later transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. Two passengers in the vehicle identified as Jill Fisher (43 years of Ripon) and Annette Martinez (52 years of Merced) were also contacted in the vehicle. Fisher was found to be in possession of an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and Martinez was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and an open container of an alcoholic beverage. The two passengers were taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Thursday, at 10:39 PM, Officer Aaron Will and FTO Paul Rourick conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of N. Jack Tone and Canal Blvd. for a registration violation. During the contact the driver, later identified as Carl Williams (32 years of Stockton), was determined to have three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Upon further investigation Williams was found to have provided a false name, and to be in possession of several pieces of stolen mail, identification and credit cards belonging to others, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Friday, at 10:24 AM, Officer Kyle Prather was on patrol in the 300 block of Parallel Ave. He observed a subject known to him, identified as Justin Ornellas (25 years of Ripon), who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was contacted and taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. On Friday, at 5:06 PM, Ripon Officers were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of E. Main St. regarding a subject that had an outstanding warrant. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as Maurice Barela (52 years of Modesto). He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Friday, at 7:12 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision at W. Colony Rd. and Goodwin Dr. On arrival officers contacted the involved parties. While conducting an investigation into the collision one of the drivers was determined to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The driver, identified as Herbert Perry (78 years of Ripon), was taken into custody and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail after being medically cleared at a local hospital. On Saturday, at 10:15 AM, Officer Kyle Prather was on patrol in the area of Reynolds Ave. and Parallel Ave. He observed a subject known to him, identified as Donald Moyer III (31 years of Ripon), who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was contacted and taken into custody without incident. He was released at the scene on a citation. On Sunday, at 11:37 AM, Sgt. Stephen Meece was on patrol at the Sports Park located at 1201 W. River Rd. and observed a subject, identified as Vinny Romero (18 years of Fresno), smoking marijuana in the city park. He was briefly taken into custody and later released on a citation at the scene. On Sunday, at 5:52 PM, Officer Justin Qualle was on patrol of the park located at 1000 Stouffer St. A vehicle with a registration violation was located inside the park. A subject associated with the vehicle, identified as Abel Lemus (27 years of Lathrop), was contacted. He was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Sunday, at 7:10 PM, Ripon Officers observed a suspicious vehicle parked on E. Fourth St. east of S. Stockton Ave. Upon contact with the vehicle officers contacted four occupants identified as Lauren Greco (19 years of Modesto), and three juvenile males (16 years of age). During the incident marijuana was located in the vehicle and in the possession of the juveniles. The juveniles were taken into custody and released at the scene to parents/guardians after being issued citations. Greco was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Sunday, at 10:22 PM, FTO Carlos Gutierrez was on patrol in the area of the 300 block of Parallel Ave. He observed a subject known to him, identified as Matthew Faltisek (33 years of Ripon), who had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. During the contact he was also determined to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was contacted and taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

On arrival officers contacted two occupants of a vehicle in the parking lot. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Melissa Brown (28 years of Sonora), and passenger of the vehicle, identified as Jacob Murray (34 years of Sonora), were determined to have outstanding warrants for their arrests. On Monday, at 8:49 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the 100 block of Second St. on a report of a subject in distress. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as an adult male from Ripon, who was taken into protective custody without incident and transported to a local hospital. On Tuesday, at 3:53 AM, Ripon Officers responded to the 1500 block of Atlantic Ave. on a report of a subject in distress. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as a juvenile from Ripon, who was taken into protective custody without incident and transported to a local hospital. On Wednesday, at 3:29 AM, Officer Matthew Belaski and FTO Carlos Gutierrez were on patrol in the area of 1553 W. Colony Rd. performing a security check of the business and parking lot. Officers observed three females walking who appeared suspicious. Officers contacted the subjects, who were identified as, Dawniel Santangelo (40 years of Stockton), Alizabeth Rice (18 years of Stockton), and a juvenile (17 years of Stockton). During the course of the incident it was determined that the three females were at the location for prostitution. The subjects were taken into custody and transported to the police department for processing. After booking the two adults were released from the department on citations, the juvenile was also issued a citation and released to a parent. On Wednesday, at 1:01 PM, FTO Leroy Sanchez was conducting a security check of the business located at 1501 N. Jack Tone Rd. A recreational vehicle with a registration violation was observed. The occupants of the vehicle were contacted. One of the male subjects, identified as Kyle Bratcher (31 years of Stockton), was determined to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Wednesday, at 3:10 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the area of McVeigh Way on a report of a suspicious vehicle with no license plates that appeared to be “casing properties” in the county area of Ripon. The reporting party attempted to follow the vehicle, and last saw the vehicle in the area of S. Highland Ave. Officer Justin Qualle located the vehicle in the 500 block of S. Jack Tone Rd. Officers contacted the subject, identified as Adam Duran (32 years of Ripon), at the location. A probation search was conducted. A bullet proof vest, pepper spray, and burglary tools were located. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail.

Department Activity On Friday, at 2:21 AM, Officer Aaron Will and FTO Paul Rourick conducted a check on a suspicious vehicle parked in an orchard on Santos Ave. near N. Jack Tone Rd. While speaking with the occupant of the vehicle, identified as John Snyder (37 years of Montague), it was determined the vehicle had license plates from two separate vehicles. A registration check of the vehicle showed it recently stolen out of Fresno. Snyder was taken into custody. While in custody an amount of Methamphetamine was located in his possession. He was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Friday, at 10:30 PM, Ripon Officers responded to an assault on E. Frontage Rd. near Prospect Ave. On arrival officers were able to determine the male subject was assaulted with a knife and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The victim was accosted by two subjects who are described as white males in their early 20’s. After assaulting the victim they stole his wallet. The case is under investigation by detectives. On Saturday, at 6:45 AM, Officer Kyle Prather was investigating an incident reported to him at the police department. He responded to 1553 W. Colony Rd. to contact the other involved party. On arrival at the location the subject, identified as Robert Anderson (26 years of Modesto), was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Saturday, at 4:37 PM, Officer Gordon West responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Riverview Circle. On arrival at the scene a vehicle, green Honda Accord, left at the scene was determined to be recently stolen out of Manteca. Other property was recovered at the scene, and was determined to be recently stolen from a home in the county area. Investigators are continuing to follow up on this incident. On Sunday, at 5:37 AM, Officer Scott King responded to a report of a theft from the business at 338 E. Main St. On arrival the suspect, identified as Jeremy Cornish-Ford (29 year old transient from Oakland), was located on Parallel Ave. near E. Main St. An affidavit of arrest was signed and Cornish-Ford was taken into custody. The property was recovered and he was subsequently released at the scene on a citation. On Sunday, 8:59 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the intersection of Ripona Ave. and Washington St. on a report of a hit and run traffic collision. The suspect vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the intersection as it was traveling on Washington St. and struck a vehicle traveling on Ripona Ave. The incident is currently being investigated by the department. The suspect vehicle is a black sedan. On Monday, at 2:03 AM, Ripon Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity and possible theft from a business located at 447 Parallel Ave. On arrival the suspect, identified as Jeremy Cornish-Ford (29 year old transient from Oakland), was located on Parallel Ave. near Reynolds Ave. After an investigation into the incident he was taken into custody possession of stolen property, petty theft, and trespassing. He was later transported to the San Joaquin County Jail.

RHS Parade on Friday: Tomorrow the Ripon High School Homecoming Parade will start at 2:30 PM. The parade will start on S. Wilma Ave. at the Almond Valley Church, make its way eastbound onto W. Main St., then will head north on N. Stockton Ave., and back on Pine St. where it will end at the High School. Although roadways will not be closed along the parade route, except during the staging of the floats on S. Wilma Ave., please be patient as there will be some minor delays in the down town area.

During the course the stop the driver, identified as Rishell Hernon (32 years of Sacramento), was determined to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Tuesday, at 2:33 PM, Ripon Officers responded to 1340 W. Colony Rd. on a report of a subject in distress. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as a 29 year old male out of Modesto. The subject was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. On Tuesday, at 11:03 PM, Officer Alex Contreras was conducting a security check of the business located at 1501 N. Jack Tone Rd. and observed a vehicle with evidence of false registration. An occupant of the vehicle was contacted. During the contact the subject, identified as Paul Etcheverry (57 years of Stockton), was determined to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Also during the contact an amount of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Wednesday, at 1:33 AM, Officer Matthew Belaski and FTO Carlos Gutierrez conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of W. Colony Rd. and Hoff Dr. for a registration violation. During the contact the driver, identified as Suzanne Alvarado (39 years of Modesto), was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Wednesday, 11:08 PM, Officer Matthew Belaski and FTO Carlos Gutierrez were on patrol in the area of the 300 block of Parallel Ave. and contacted a subject in the roadway. The subject, identified as Taylor Coss (36 years of Ripon), was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation.

Department Activity On Thursday, at 6:53 PM, Ripon Officers responded to the intersection of Jack Tone Rd. and W. Main St. on a report of a Hit and Run traffic collision. The vehicle responsible for the collision reportedly left the area and was followed by a member of the community. Officers contacted the responsible driver, identified as a 16 year old female Ripon resident. She was taken into custody and later released to her mother on a citation at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that was sideswiped was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. It is important to note that juvenile drivers that have driving permits adhere to the restrictions associated with that permit, as operating a motor vehicle outside of the restrictions can have serious consequences and affect their future ability to legally operate a motor vehicle. On Friday, at 12:07 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a city park located at 1601 Bainbridge Way on a report of suspicious activity. On arrival officers contacted the subject, identified as David Haslett (31 years of Ripon), who became agitated with officers. Upon leaving the park he attempted to gain entry into a locked police vehicle. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail. On Saturday, at 5:55 PM, Ripon Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of S. Acacia Ave. on a report of a domestic dispute. On arrival officers contacted the residents at the location, and later located an involved subject at 334 W. Fourth St. (Veteran’s Park). The subject, identified as Craig Ronyack (37 years of Ripon), located in the park was cited for an open alcoholic beverage and released at the scene. On Monday, at 2:21 AM, Officer Alex Contreras was on patrol conducting a security check of the Mistlin Sports Park located at 1201 River Rd. and observed a vehicle in the park after hours. A check of the vehicle revealed a subject inside. During the contact the subject, identified as Jacob Gentry (25 years of Fresno), had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody and released at the scene on a citation. On Monday, at 3:06 AM, Officer Matthew Belaski and FTO Carlos Gutierrez were on patrol in the area of Parallel Ave. and E. Main St. and observed a subject walking in the roadway. Upon contact the subject, identified as Jason Lopez (29 years of Modesto), was determined to be under the influence of a drug and was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was taken into custody and transported to the San Joaquin County Jail.
