Check this out. Honda Morgan Hill has sponsored this really cool vehicle to Drive Out Domestic Violence. So far over 3k people have signed it and they are donating 1.00 to Community Solutions for each signature. So be on the lookout for it. 👍👀 Today members of the South County Family Justice Center (including MHPD) were able to see and sign it at Community Solutions.

Halloween Safety Tips from MHPD We encourage you to participate in the 2018 Safe Trick or Treat in downtown Morgan Hill this Wednesday between 5pm and 7pm. If you plan on hitting your local neighborhood for some "old school" trick or treating, please review our "Guide to Safe Trick or Treating" attached to this post and educate your kids on the safest practices. We also recommend you familiarize yourself with local neighborhoods and utilize https://www.meganslaw.ca.gov to map out a route you and your family are comfortable with. Not all convicted sex offenders are required to be listed on this site so please be diligent when out with your children this Halloween.

Just saw this and wanted to share it immediately. We’ve also seen an increase in scams and we have seen greater creativity from the perpetrators. This latest scam has the crook spoof a phone number you already know, making it look like your friend/partner/family member is calling you. Remember you SHOULD ALWAYS call us first. NEVER send money. Please share this post. Let’s make Morgan Hill a place scammers know to avoid. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/San-Jose-Man-Loses-1500-in-Spoofing-Incident-Reporting-a-Fake-Kidnapping-498755291.html?akmobile=o

The City of San Jose will be hosting a Gun Buyback on Saturday 1st December 9am - 1pm.

MHPD have determined the aforementioned school threat originated in another State. There is no credible threat towards Britton Middle School; however, we will maintain a presence at the school all day.

Important message: MHPD has been made aware of a possible threat made on social media (Snapchat) to a local school for tomorrow afternoon. Tonight we are investigating the validity of this threat and taking it very seriously.. It has been determined that this is a regional threat and may not be specific to a Morgan Hill school. Other jurisdictions are involved and also investigating. Keeping our kids and schools safe is absolutely our number one priority. We will be out in full force tomorrow at all of our local schools. We will update this space with any further developments. Thank you.

**Update** We are looking to identify the subject wearing his baseball cap backwards. There are TWO outstanding suspects at this time and we are still working on footage of the second suspect. An earlier post inadvertently suggested both subjects in the photo were suspects. To clarify only ONE suspect was caught on camera. His photo is below. We will post other images of the second suspect once they are available. **END OF UPDATE** Two men walked into Safeway at Tennant Station last night and straight to the liquor aisle. When they were confronted as they walked out, one of them pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the clerk. They were last seen driving a silver/gray 2002-2005 2-door Honda Accord with damage to the passenger side door. Let us know if you think you may know these 2.

Suspicious death leads to arrest for murder of Sunnyvale man. On July 3, 2018, at 9:40pm, Morgan Hill Police Officers were dispatched to the 15000 block of Concord Circle for a report of an unconscious male on the sidewalk. Officers and paramedics arrived on scene moments later and pronounced the victim, Curtis Stephen Stapleton, 27, of Sunnyvale, CA deceased. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner was notified of the death and responded to the scene. Morgan Hill Police Detectives and the Medical Examiner determined the death was suspicious and began an investigation. The investigation determined that Martin Mason Garcia, 30, of Watsonville, CA was the last person to be with Curtis Stapleton before his death and was involved in a physical altercation with him before police were notified. The two men were co-workers of a nearby business. During the three-month investigation, Morgan Hill Police Detectives gathered enough evidence to arrest Martin Mason Garcia for the death of Curtis Stapleton. A six-million-dollar warrant was issued for the arrest of Garcia and he was arrested in Watsonville on October 02, 2018 and later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on murder charges. Anyone that may have additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Price at (408) 779-2101 or the anonymous tip line 408.947-STOP (7867).
