The Santa Paula Police Dept. is releasing the booking photo of the suspect, Christian Madrigal, from an indecent exposure incident earlier this year. Due to the investigation at the time, the SPPD was not able to release the photo. Thank you and Stay vigilant! ----- Date: Sept 15, 2018 On Sunday, September 9, 2018 at approximately 6:55 pm, Santa Paula Police officers responded to the 800 block of McKevett Road regarding an indecent exposure. The female victim had been gardening when the male suspect drove by in his vehicle to ask her a question. As the victim advanced towards the vehicle in an attempt to offer assistance, the suspect exposed his frontal parts. The quick-thinking victim noted the license plate as she safely retreated. On Tuesday, September 11, 2018 on a separate incident, a female victim reported on a local Facebook page that she felt harassed by a suspicious vehicle. Before the vehicle could escape, she quickly snapped a photo (attached) and reported this to authorities. Follow-up investigation later revealed that these two incidents were linked to the same suspect and vehicle. Detectives used the evidence taken by the victim to help conduct their follow-up investigation, and eventually identified the suspect as Christian Madrigal (22) of Santa Paula. On September 13, 2018, Madrigal was arrested on separate unrelated charges, and admitted to detectives of exposing himself to the victim. Madrigal was later booked into Ventura County Jail.

After a search of the area, the suspect was not located. If anyone has information regarding this incident please contact Detective Chris Rivera at 805-525-4478 Ext 221.

Press Release: Through the month of October, the Santa Paula Police Department will switch to pink patches on their uniforms during “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. The pink patches are intended to stimulate conversation within the community and to encourage public awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer. The Santa Paula Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project, a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs’ Association and over 330 public safety agencies throughout the United States. The Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to increase public awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds for the fight against the disease. Breast Cancer is an unfortunate disease that hits close to home for many, including Assistant Police Chief Ismael Cordero, who was the first to spearhead the Pink Patch Project in Ventura County, starting with Santa Paula in 2015. “My wife is one of the lucky survivors of this terrible disease going on 6 years,” said Assistant Chief Ismael Cordero. “When this hits home, public safety is a family, Santa Paula Police Department is a family and this was one of the things our team decided we could do to support those battling the disease and let them know that they’re not fighting alone.” SPPD will offer pink patches for a $10 donation. One hundred percent of the donations will support City of Hope. Please contact Asst. Chief Ish Cordero @ icordero@spcity.org or 805-525-4474 X124. Photo: Left to Right - Asst.
