We “Donut” know what we would have done without you! Thank you Youth Initiative of Adams County (ACYI) for the box of doughnuts, the sweet note, and for thinking of us! The ACYI works to ensure that the children in Adams County are healthy and start school ready to learn, succeed in their school and the community, and are college and career ready. We love ACYI’s vision and goals and are privileged to work side by side with them in helping our youth succeed.

Patriot Day Commemoration Happening now at our Strasburg Substation, we are remembering the brave souls who lost their life on 9/11. We are also paying tribute to the first responders who went into harms way to save others. We’d like to thank the American Legion Post 183 and the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department for their partnership. #neverforget

17 years have come and gone but we have never forgotten all those who lost their lives🇺🇸👨🏼‍🚒👩🏼‍🚒👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

The first ZPIII Softball Tournament yesterday was a huge success with seventeen teams registered, to include two out of state teams. Denver PD (Denver Bears) took home the championship beating out Alamosa PD in a great game. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office team played their hearts out for their fallen brothers, leaving it all out on the field in the quarterfinals. It was an honor to share this day with the wives and families of Heath Gumm, Zach Parrish, and Micah Flick. Not a day goes by that we don’t hold you in our hearts. Thank you to all the law enforcement families and our brothers and sisters who came out to support a great event. Thank you Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for hosting the annual tournament and all the hard work you put in to make it a success. #backtheblue #ZPIIIsoftballtourney #Gummball #acsoproud #fallenbrothers

A big THANK YOU for a kind gesture! "A citizen approached me this morning while I was catching up on some paperwork in my patrol car. She handed me this card and thanked me, before quickly returning to her vehicle and leaving the area before I could get her name and really thank her. I think we sometimes get caught up in the negative this profession can bring that we lose sight of all the positive there is out there. This gesture is a reminder to me, there are a lot of people in this country who support, appreciate and respect LE! Thank you ma'am for the wonderful gift you gave me this morning. The message you provided me is way more valuable then the card given." Sr. Deputy Dummar #WEAREADAMS #ACSOPROUD #BACKTHEBLUE

This year, we are joining communities around the world to raise awareness and share our commitment to help end the drug overdose crisis. Drug overdoses killed more than 63,000 Americans in 2016, an alarming increase of more than 20 percent from the previous year. As professionals providing care in correctional environments, we know this crisis is even more severe for our patients. Friday, August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. We invite you to join us this week and spreading awareness by sharing the #EndOverdose message and wearing purple in recognition of IOAD2018.
