The Alamosa Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft case that occurred between November 8 and November 9, 2017, multiple farms in Alamosa County and Rio Grande County had GPS farm tractor guidance systems stolen. The value of the items taken is well over $100,000.00. All of the GPS units are registered to the specific farms they were stolen from, and will only work in farm equipment. The serial numbers for all the units have been supplied, and registered as stolen with the tracking company. If anyone attempts to install, register, or update these units it will notify Law Enforcement they are stolen and give a GPS location of the unit. Once these units are powered on they can be tracked by GPS. Video surveillance of the suspects and suspect vehicle were collected from several scenes, along with tire impressions and other evidence. We are seeking additional information on suspects and location of these GPS devices. Call Crimestoppers at 719-589-4111 if you have any information. You can remain anonymous and may be entitled to a cash reward for your information.
