Happy #ThrowbackThursday to Pepper Jack's Happy Tail! Pepper Jack came in with 22 other dogs from one home. He had very poor dental health, so we gave him a full dental with 23 extractions! Then we found Pepper Jack a wonderful new home. We just got this great update! "He is doing so much better now and loves hanging around my other dogs." Way to go, Pepper Jack! #HappyTailsHappyHearts

These fabulous felines are so special we have waived their adoption fees. Check out the hand-picked group for the week of November 5th! Visit these fantastic cats online at www.hsppr.org/adopt! #happytailshappyhearts * A $15 license fee may apply.

Stressed about #ElectionDay? Now that you've voted, take a break from the stress by watching these two cuties (well, mostly Flyer) teach that feather toy who's boss! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1391682 www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1391681

Wow, what a great adoption weekend! We've already adopted out 56 cats during our Fall Cat Sale! Unfortunately, we also took in 72 cats during this same period, so we still need your help getting these fabulous felines into wonderful new homes. For example, beautiful Sweetie is a very calm, easy-going gal who gets along well with other kitty friends. She has been hanging out in our cat colony room waiting for her new home for almost a month and a half! Remember, our Cat and Rabbit Sale is going on until Friday, November 9, so make sure you spread the word and come in to check out who we have available. #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1385594 www.hsppr.org/springs/currentoffers www.hsppr.org/adopt

Happy fall, y'all! We still have a LOT of friendly felines waiting from our population boom over the summer, and we want them all to find amazing new families to cuddle with for the winter months ahead. We also have lots of cuddly rabbits looking for a home. So we are holding a fall cat and rabbit sale from today until next Friday! All adult cats over 6 months old and all bunnies are FREE! Come pick out your bff (best feline friend) or bbf (best bunny friend) today! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/adopt

Trick or Treat and Happy Halloween from Marcy and Ribbons! These two lucky ladies made the rounds this morning, distributing treats, wishing all our friends a Happy Halloween, and bestowing upon them their black cat luck. Marcy and Ribbons, as well as their matching brother Jesse will all be available for adoption this afternoon! #HappyTailsHappyHearts #HappyHalloween EPC Sheriff's Office The Gazette FOX21 News 103.9 RXP Council of Neighbors and Organizations

Tika's Happy Tail! Beautiful 17-year-old Tika had only had one beloved owner for her entire life. Unfortunately, Tika's person got very sick and couldn't care for her anymore. Although Tika is an older gal, her health is good, and after a few check-ups, we put her up for adoption so she could find a VERY special final home for her retirement. Fortunately, Tika was only available a few days before this wonderful woman and her daughter came in and saw her! They decided they wanted to give this sweet ole gal all the love and canned food she can handle for the rest of her days. Way to go, Tika and new family! #HappyTailsHappyHearts

***Great news! According to KKTV, Sabrina has been found safe and sound! Thank you ALL for sharing this post and your concern for Sabrina! www.kktv.com/content/news/498564491.html *** Have you seen this girl? One of our own is missing! Sabrina is one of our teen volunteers, and we are all very worried about her. If you have any information about her whereabouts, please call CSPD immediately. https://koaa.com/breaking-news/2018/10/25/cspd-looking-for-missing-girl-who-never-arrived-at-school/

Now that's what we call a successful National Feral Cat Day! Yesterday, we held a mass sterilization event in honor of #NationalFeralCatDay; we asked the community to bring in unowned community and feral cats from their neighborhoods to participate in our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. And we had our most successful event yet! We spayed or neutered 104 unowned cats from Colorado Springs and El Paso County. 48 females spayed and 56 males neutered means we saved hundreds of kittens from being born homeless in our region! Huge, HUGE thank you to our TNR staff and volunteers and of course our veterinary clinic, who broke their record for most spays and neuters accomplished in one day. Way to go, team! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/tnr

We wanted to share this story in loving memory of one of our very special HSPPR alums: "My husband and I adopted Ebony a Rottweiler when she was a puppy when we were stationed in Colorado Springs Colorado in 2007. I wanted to thank you for her. She was amazing, and she was our first child. I have never seen such unconditional love from an animal as her. I often referred to her as my husband's wife because they were inseparable. She was with us through three deployments, four moves, four children and the passing of my mother in May. Ebony passed away October 5th. She was 11 years old. The ache that our family is going through is crippling. However I wanted to thank you guys for her and the work that you continue to do." We are so sorry to hear about Ebony, but it makes us so happy to know she had such a long, happy life. That’s all we can ask for, for any of our shelter pets. Ebony will live on in the minds and hearts of her family whom she loved so much! #HappyTailsHappyHearts

Tinker's Happy Tail! 14-year-old Tinker was looking for an amazing new home for her retirement. Fortunately, she didn't have to wait long before this wonderful new family found her! Way to go, Tinker! We hope you have many years of life and love together. #HappyTailsHappyHearts

Meet your best friend Linus, a special guy looking for a very special new home! 8-year-old Linus is a very happy boy, and his goal in life is to make you as happy as he is. He is quite energetic for an 8-year-old, and he loves walking on a leash. He'll do just about anything to get a treat from you!Linus suffers from severe bilateral hip dysplasia. He has moderately good function with a narrow hindlimb gait and some difficulty rising. He does bunny hop in the hind limbs in an effort to relieve hip pain when walking and running. We recommend walking Linus twice to three times daily and a prescription joint diet for long term joint health and maintenance of a lean body weight to alleviate undue stress on his joints. Radiographs of his hips are available at the time of adoption. Please help spread the word to find Linus a great new home today! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1388740

Adorable bonded pair available for adoption! Bronx York and his stuffed monkey friend came to HSPPR because their owners couldn't care for them anymore. Bronx York loves toys, but his favorite is his stuffed monkey, so the family knew they couldn't be separated. The monkey is a calm fellow who really doesn't seem to need much in the way of food or attention. Bronx is an energetic kitten who loves to play and sleep with his monkey friend. So come adopt this stuffed monkey today, and we'll throw in Bronx York as a BOGO deal! AND even better, we're giving out coupons for $25 cat (and stuffed monkey) adoptions. All cats 6 months and older will only be $25 this weekend! Come find your new BFF (best feline friend) starting at 11 a.m. tomorrow! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1387250

Happy #VeterinaryTechniciansWeek! We could not do the amazing, life-saving work we do in our veterinary clinic without each and every one of our 15 amazing vet techs. Huge thank you for the hard work you do for the homeless cats and dogs at HSPPR every day! #HappyTailsHappyHearts #VetTechWeek

Urgent need! We are almost completely out of puppy pads here at HSPPR, as demonstrated by the adorable Hiccup. We use puppy pads for everything from actual puppies to our veterinary clinic to our TNR program and more. We would also love some treats of all sizes for our doggie friends. All in-kind donations can be brought to our Admissions and Lost & Found Center anytime during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thank you in advance for your generosity! #HappyTailsHappyHearts www.hsppr.org/springs/pets/a1389189

Buddy's Happy Tail! Adorable 10-year-old Buddy got away from his family three weeks ago. Fortunately, a kind person found Buddy at his work and brought him here to HSPPR this morning. We scanned him for a microchip and were able to immediately call up his family, who was missing him greatly. We reunited them within hours, and you would not believe the number of kisses Buddy gave his mom! Way to go, Buddy and family! #HappyTailsHappyHearts #microchipssavelives

Happy birthday, Brendon! Instead of presents this year, he collected donations of treats, toys and cash for the homeless pets at HSPPR, and he brought them all in over the weekend.
