Have you read the warning on Craigslist on how to avoid scams on their website? Whether buying or selling, you can be a target for scammers. Below is just a snippet of what's on their page. Find out how to avoid scams, where to report scams and examples of what a scam looks like at https://www.craigslist.org/about/scams?lang=en&cc=us. Avoiding Craigslist Scams: Deal locally, face-to-face —follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts. Do not extend payment to anyone you have not met in person. Beware offers involving shipping - deal with locals you can meet in person. Never wire funds (e.g. Western Union) - anyone who asks you to is a scammer. Don't accept cashier/certified checks or money orders - banks cash fakes, then hold you responsible. Transactions are between users only, no third party provides a "guarantee". Never give out financial info (bank account, social security, paypal account, etc). Do not rent or purchase sight-unseen—that amazing "deal" may not exist. Refuse background/credit checks until you have met landlord/employer in person.

HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS IN BRECKENRIDGE Breckenridge, CO--On Wednesday, October 31 the Town of Breckenridge will be closing streets in several neighborhoods to accommodate safe and enjoyable "trick or treating.” In the Wellington Neighborhood, Wolff Lyon Road and Bridge Street will be closed from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.at the request of the Wellington Neighborhood Association. In the Historic District of Breckenridge, High Street and Harris Street along with related side streets will be closed from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Halloween closures in the Historic District of Breckenridge date back over 30 years, and past surveys of residents affirm the strong support for this small town tradition. One High Street neighborhood resident recently commented, "We love the tradition of having the streets closed and safe for the kids. Part of the charm of Breckenridge is that it has a feel of tradition and nostalgia." For more information, please call Sgt. Bryan Ridge or email at bryanr@townofbreckenridge.com.

A new short term rental ordinance will be rolling out the first of the year. Check out this video about how it will work plus some information on the town budget. Exciting stuff folks!

Great idea from RWB. While you're getting your vehicle ready for winter by getting winter tires on, wipers replaced and a safety kit ready, be sure to add sign up for www.SCAlert.org to your list. Bad days happen but you can be prepared.
