MVA involving a car and a MTA maintenance vehicle on the tracks at the Seeley Road crossing. Train service has been stopped while MTA conducts the investigation.

Congratulations to Officer Canepari and Officer Harris who received the AAA Northeast Traffic Safety Hero Award last week. Also, congratulations to Wilton Fire Department Deputy Chief Amatrudo, Jack Majesky, T.G. Rawlins, and Pat Russo who also received the AAA Traffic Safety Hero Award for the invaluable assistance they provide to our public safety services via their contributions and dedication to Wilton CERT.

Last week Lt Hartman, School Resource Officer MacLean, and Officer Patry educated members of Stay at Home in Wilton on scams that target our senior population.

Arrest – Enticement of a Minor Mark Crowley (56) of Beverly, MA was arrested and charged with Risk of Injury to a Minor and Enticement of a Minor after a month long investigation. He was being held on a $200,000 bond and will be arraigned at the Norwalk Superior Court on 10/26/2018. In September of 2018 the Wilton Police Department received a complaint of a 56 year old male contacting an 11 year old female in Wilton via the internet. That the accused began to “groom” the juvenile victim in an attempt to obtain pornographic images of children. Subsequent investigation revealed the accused to reside in Beverly, MA and Wilton Police worked with Beverly Police to obtain arrest warrants and search warrants. On 10/17/2018 members of the Wilton Police Department went to Beverly, MA and served a search warrant on the accused’s home. Electronic evidence was seized and the accused was arrested in MA and charged as a Fugitive of Justice. He was extradited from MA to CT on 10/25/2018 and charged. The members of the Wilton Police Department would like to thank the members of the Beverly Police Department for all of their assistance in locating and charging Mark Crowley.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Wilton Domestic Violence Task Force has partnered with 3 local nail salons - Sun Spa & Nail Salon, Good Morning Spa & Nail Salon, and Mint Spa and Nail Salon - who have committed to donating a portion of their proceeds for any purple colored manicure and/our pedicure to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center DVCC. Today several officers of the Wilton Police Department supported the cause by painting their nails purple!

Wolfpit Rd (Rt. 106) is now open

Wolfpit Rd (Rt. 106) is closed in the area of Woodchuck Ln due to wires in the road.

Route 7 is open

As of 9pm 10/2/18, Danbury Rd (Route 7) will be closed until further notice between Westport Rd (Rt 33) and Grumman Hill Rd due to wires down.

Due to the severe weather there are currently multiple roads closed throughout Wilton due to trees and wires down.
