***Road Closure*** The NPD would like to advise you Route 63/New Haven Road is currently closed to all traffic from Clark Road to Edward's Road in Bethany due to a fatal motor vehicle accident currently being investigated by the Connecticut State Police. The suspect in the photo is believed to be driving a newer model dark colored (Black) Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe with damage to the rear bumper. At approx 1:43 Pm today (Wednesday 10/31/18) the Naugatuck PD investigated the illegal dumping of a sofa in the middle of Elm St. This was a blatant act conducted in the middle of the day in close proximity of several construction work sites with extra duty officers working. One of those officers observed the vehicle drive by with the sofa shortly before dumping it. The officer was unable to obtain the registration information as the plate was covered by the sofa however the officer observed it had two occupants including the driver, described as white males. The truck was a Black Chevy pick up with ladder racks. Naugatuck officers are currently on scene investigating however anyone with information connected with this incident are asked to contact the NPD at 203-729-5221 or the NPD CONFIDENTIAL TIP LINE at 203-720-1010
