***FACEBOOKED FRIDAY*** Shoplifting arrests between October 25th and November 1st

We would like to thank K9 Britt for his 11+ years of service to the department and the City of Dover. He was retired from duty, effective today. Britt will continue to live with his handler, Cpl. Barrett, and his family with his retirement.

Wondering what we did with all that candy from our cancelled Trick-or-Treat event last week? Today, some of our officers took 100 pre-made bags of treats to the Ronald McDonald House and spent some time with the families there. If you're Trick or Treating in Dover tonight, keep an eye out for our officers patrolling the neighborhoods. Many of them will be handing out candy as well!

We received a message earlier this week that our friend, Ethan, was celebrating his sixth birthday by having a police themed party. Ethan’s mom asked us to stop by and C Platoon made it happen! Not only did Ethan have special visitors, but the officers also gave him plenty of Dover PD goodies and a gift card to Chuck E Cheese. Happy Birthday, Ethan and thank you for letting us celebrate with you! 🎂 🎁 🎉 🚓 👮 👮‍♀️

Based on increasingly worse weather conditions being predicted for the Safe Trick or Treat event on Friday, October 26th, organizers have been forced to cancel the 2018 event.😥 We apologize for any inconvenience and wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween. We look forward to seeing you in 2019 (without the storms). Thank you for your understanding.

Good: Officers helping a kayaker that flipped into the water at the Mayor’s Kayak and Canoe Regatta on Silver Lake. Bad: Splashing water in the kayakers face while rowing 🤦🏻‍♂️ #KayakerWasOk #RemedialTrainingRequired #DPDblooper

Row, row, row your boat 👮🏻‍♂️🚨🚔 🚣

CAN YOU ID THIS MAN? He is a suspect in an assault investigation being conducted by our agency? If you have any information, send a private message or call 302-736-7130

We have received calls regarding a phone scam that seems to be reaching a lot of people today. This particular scam involves someone pretending to raise money for a Firefighter charity. This is not a legitimate fundraiser. Do not provide any of your information or send money. Simply hang up. There is no need to call the police department if you receive a call as they are untraceable. Simply hang up and do not send money or give info out.

NO-SHAVE NOVEMBER IS COMING Check out how officers from our department are raising money for charity by not shaving during November at the link below: https://wp.me/p407do-BKP
