Georgetown Police seize 1,500 bags of Heroin on Traffic Stop. Georgetown, DE- Georgetown Police have arrested a Virginia man for multiple drug related charges after stopping him for a traffic violation on South Dupont Boulevard. On November 11, 2018 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Georgetown Police stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on South Dupont Boulevard in the area of Shortly Road, for a traffic violation. Upon contacting the operator, officers smelled the odor of marijuana and a subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, approximately 6 grams of marijuana was located in the vehicles glove box. Officers also located in the vehicles back seat, a bag containing 150 bundles of Heroin, each bundle containing 10 individual bags. Tyrice Thomas, 26 of Virginia was arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thomas was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court and released on $40,200 unsecured bail.

Traffic Stop in Georgetown Leads to Multiple Counts of Identity Theft Charges for Two Men Georgetown, DE-Georgetown Police have arrested two men after they were stopped for a traffic violation. On October 9, 2018 Georgetown Police observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Dupont Boulevard commit a traffic violation in the area of County Seat Highway. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers noticed the odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle was conducted and resulted in officers locating a laptop computer and 122 SIM cards. Further investigation revealed that the occupants had cataloged personal information of numerous victims on the laptop with intent on using the information to activate the SIM cards on cell phones. Officers also identified several addresses locally where cell phones had been shipped and the occupants were planning to retrieve. After retrieving the cell phones and activating the SIM cards with stolen personal information, the cell phones would be sold via the internet. Georgetown Police are working in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations Delaware. This investigation is ongoing. Allan Castillo, 28 and Andrea Villar-Martinez 31, both of the Dominican Republic, were arrested for 16 counts of Identity Theft, 16 counts of Conspiracy 2nd degree and possession of marijuana. Castillo and Villar-Martinez were both arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $64,500 cash bail.
