Our dedicated men and women of the police department are volunteering their time to begin to set up the tents for Trunk or Treat. We would also like to recognize the Public Works Department employees for their hard work in assisting us. This is definitely a collaborative effort to make this a fun filled family event! Stay tuned for more updates.

Lots of community members enjoyed the week long CalaVida Arts Festival activities. The festival ended with a day filled with great music and spectacular fireworks. The Green Cove Springs Police Department Marine Unit operated by Lt. Shawn Hines and volunteer Robert Page were out on the water ensuring everyone's safety. Numerous officers were at various intersections to assist with traffic flow. Good job everyone!!!

NEWS RELEASE: A little before 5:00am this morning, our officers responded to an armed robbery at the Kangaroo gas station located at 1517 Idlewild Avenue. The suspect had threatened the clerk with a knife and took $77 before fleeing on foot. Our officers were able to locate the suspect hiding under a shed and took him into custody. The suspect, identified as 27 year old Darrell A. Adams, was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Robbery and Theft. Mr. Adams is cooperating in our investigation. Although the stolen money was recovered, the weapon used during the robbery has still not been located.

NEWS RELEASE: Yesterday afternoon our Communications Section received a report of a possible stolen car at a local gas station. The vehicle left before patrol officers could arrive, but it did not take long for one of our eagle-eyed detectives to locate the vehicle at another store. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, which ultimately lead to the discovery of some interesting items. In the truck, officers discovered 32 grams of Methamphetamine, five counterfeit $100 bills, and a shotgun that had been reported stolen approximately one hour prior. The driver of the vehicle, William Tanner Woods, was subsequently arrested on numerous charges and booked into the county jail. Woods, who is not a resident of our City, was out on bond at the time of his arrest and also a convicted felon.

Our officers enjoyed speaking to the kids at Hickory Grove Learning Center in recognition of Safety Week. They were taught important safety tips for the upcoming Halloween events they will be attending. A great group of kids who were so respectful. Great job to the parents and staff!

This sweet fur baby was found at the Green Cove Springs Junior High School. She only has her rabies tag on her. She is currently at the Green Cove Springs Police Department until Animal Control picks her up.

This 🐾🐾sweet male dog🐾🐾 was found in the area of Vermont and Forbes St in Green Cove Springs at 1:15am 10-6-18. He will be kept at the Police Department until his family claims him or he goes to Clay County Animal Control. If you know who he belongs to call 904-297-7300. Please share.

Today Spring Park Coffee unveiled its' special blend of coffee named Sheepdog. Some of the proceeds will go to C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors). Chapter Director, Charles R. Shinholser along with members of the Green Cove Springs Police Department were present for the presentation.
