A special THANK YOU to Michael Hanson from Hanson Law, USF Fraternity, Delta Tau Delta and Shamrocks Bar and Grille for hosting a wonderful fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Temple Terrace this past month! We appreciate your support and generosity to our community.

Earlier this month, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) asked the Temple Terrace Police Department to present at their annual Safety Fair. This year was the third year that T.T.P.D. has presented at the Safety Fair on personal safety and basic self-defense tactics. We would like to thank FDEP for having us once again and we look forward to next year's event! A special THANK YOU to the students at Clark Elementary School for showering the Temple Terrace Police Department with so much love and support during National Police Week!

Today, Detective T. Morris, took the witness stand at a mock trial with students at Greco Middle School for a Hillsborough County Safe and Sound event. The purpose behind this event is to give students the opportunity to work with real attorneys, judges and law enforcement officers within Hillsborough County, to see the process behind a real life trial. We're hoping this sparks an interest with the students and some day, get to see them act in such valuable roles within our Justice system!

A special shout out to our friends at Mission BBQ for catering TWO lunches for our men and women in uniform. The popular restaurant wanted to show their appreciation for the Temple Terrace Police Department in celebration of National Police Week. Thank you Mission BBQ!

We are happy to note that the dog found by our officers on 4/28 has been reunited with her owner. Please know that we try our best to protect any stray/lost animals in our City, but we lack both the facilities and manpower to serve as a shelter. Nevertheless, our officers cared for the lost pup as we attempted to locate her owners and even took her to be groomed. Because the dog had no chip and the phone numbers on its collar were no longer in service, we were unsuccessful in arranging a reunion. As Animal Control was unavailable over the weekend, the dog was released to the care of a person who fosters strays. This caretaker was contacted and has returned the animal to its owner. While well intentioned, we regret the angst our actions placed on the owner and will take steps to ensure this does not happen again. Follow the link for advice on protecting your pets.

Here is Captain Mike Lowell reading off just SOME of the amazing details regarding Detective Tom Carroll's Distinguished Service Medal award.

Congratulations to Detective Thomas Carroll for receiving the Distinguished Service Medal award for his incredible service and dedication to the City of Temple Terrace.

Trying to find this sweet girl's home. She's been at the Department since this afternoon. She has a pink collar with a tag however, none of the numbers listed on the tag work. We have contacted animal services but if you could share this post, we would greatly appreciate it.
