The Marianna Police Department was able to obtain video footage of the two suspects at the time of the robbery. Early Voting Starts Today. You May Vote At 3 Locations Only..Marianna(Supervisor of Elections Office), Sneads City Hall and the Graceville Civic Center. Voting hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm everyday until Monday, Nov 5th. Any Jackson County Registered Voter can vote at any of these locations. On Election Day,Tuesday Nov.6, Vote at the same locations from 7:00am - 7:00pm. All Vote by Mails ballots must turned into the Marianna location only and must turned in by 7:00pm Nov. 6.

Just got this message about ice: There is a semi load of free ice at the Baptist Church in Altha. Donated by Alabama Farmers Cooperative. 5000 bags.

**UPDATES INCLUDED** Here is some information for City of Marianna Residents. - Courts in Jackson County will be closed through October 26th. - Schools in Jackson County will resume on October 29th. Teachers will return on October 26th. - Curfew is 11:00 pm until 5:00 am. - Boil Water Notice has been LIFTED, water is safe to drink. - There is a fire ban in place until further notice. Do not burn any yard debris. - Please be sure to turn off all electrical at the breaker box until power is restored and you are at home to ensure everything comes back on safely. - Report all Water, Sewer, and Gas leaks to 850-573-6346. - Waste Pro has begun garbage pickup. If your road is not passable for their trucks, please take your can to the closest place they can reach and they will pick it up. DO NOT put yard debris in the trash cans. - City Hall is not currently open to the public - DO NOT BE CONCERNED ABOUT UTILITY BILLS - NO LATE FEE WILL BE CHARGED AND THERE WILL NOT BE ANY CUT OFFS during this time. - Please put all storm debris as close to the roadway as possible without it actually being in the road. Removal will begin as soon as possible. Please have separate piles - one being vegetation (tree limbs, etc.) and the other pile being construction (shingles, wood, vinyl siding, etc.). We have had several calls related to this post and there are NO major gas leaks. The gas department is working diligently during this time and we call them immediately with any reported gas leaks. Please share this post!!

During times like this there are people that want to take advantage. Please beware of any workers that contact you to clear roadways or do work on your homes. Do your homework and checkfor a license and references.

The storm has now past and the cleanup begins. Please remember to have patience as crews work to restore utilities and first responders work to check people and properties. Please do not sight see - stay off the roads so those working can do their job with out interruption or delay. Please do not take anything that is not yours and if you see someone acting suspicious call law enforcement immediately. Please lend each other a helping hand - our community has experienced great destruction but we are strong and together we can recover. #MariannaStrong

We here at MPD cannot stress enough to take this storm seriously. We are hours away from a major weather event. Make last minute preparations NOW. If you plan to evacuate the time to leave is NOW. If you plan to stay please secure items around your home NOW. Take care of Yourself, your Family, your Neighbors, and your PETS!! Please stay off the roads, but if you must travel and red lights are not working TREAT THEM AS A FOUR WAY STOP. We will be on duty throughout this storm and will respond as long as we can safely do so. PLEASE REMEMBER ALL THE FIRST RESPONDERS WHO WILL BE AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILIES AND IN HARM’S WAY IN ORDER TO PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY.

Thanks to Principal Allen and all the teachers and staff at Golson Elementary School for hosting Doughnuts for Dads this morning. MPD was honored to be invited and we all had a great time!

These are just a couple of the scarecrows that Lt. Beasley had the honor of judging yesterday for the Annual Scarecrow Contest held at Sunland. These scarecrows were created by some very talented Sunland employees and the decision was extremely hard!!
