Update: FPL just completed restoring power and all lanes of traffic are open. Comcast is working to restore service to the residents.

Traffic Alert: Both North and South bound lanes of Perviz Avenue from NW 151 Street to Arabia Avenue will be blocked for approximately 9 hours due to power lines down as a result of an accident. No reported injuries

All eastbound traffic lanes on NW 135 Street from NW 27 Avenue to NW 24 Avenue will be closed due to active investigation.

‪OLPD respond to 13875 NW 22 Ave. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 2 adult males shot. Both victims were shot in the leg and were Airlifted to Ryder Trauma in stable condition. No subject information at this time. Scene still active. ‬

OLPD thoughts and prayers are with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the Florence Police Department tonight, in South Carolina.

A night with Police and Community Partnership

A roll over accident at 13205 Cairo Lane, Opa Locka involving a Freightliner Truck, no Injuries. Approximately 80 gallons of Diesel fuel is leaking from the truck. Miami Dade Fire Rescue, Hazmat are on scene. Cairo Lane will be closed to all traffic.

Today is " Thank a Police Officer Day " 9-15-2018

OLPD Criminal Investigation Division detectives had another successful month. In August, we conducted four search warrants, taking guns and drugs off the streets. A few of the compilants were received from @Miami Dade Crime Stoppers. Our mission is to keep our community safe.

Opa Locka Officers responded to 13140 Port Said Apt. #1116, reference an apartment fire. All residents evacuated, with no visible injuries. Cause of fire is unknown at this time. Fire rescue is currently on scene.

Two FIU football players shot in a drive-by in the area of 2400 NW 141 Street, Opa Locka. Anthony Jones and Mershawn Miller both non life-threatening injuries. BOLO for dark gray 2015 Nissan Sentra. If you have any information please contact the Opa Locka Police Department.

Reminder Miami Dade County Schools are starting on Monday, August 20th, 2018. Please be observant for pedestrians, & bicycles especially through school zones. School Zone lights are a courtesy and warning. Please respect the posted times on the signs when posted.
