Some crafty kids in Lake Wildwood captured the top trophies in a friendly game of golf against our deputies! The annual, Lake Wildwood Neighborhood Watch Putt Putt Golf Tournament, brought youngsters and deputies closer together for a third year. Our deputies had to putt their way to a win using pink flamingos, the putter as a pool cue and a pool noodle. Sadly our Sgt. MEDIA RELEASE: Commercial Armed Robbery in south Macon The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Family Dollar, located at 3567 Houston Avenue. The incident took place at around 9:20p.m., Wednesday night. It was reported that two males entered the store. One of the males presented what appeared to be a handgun, inside of a white bag. The suspects demanded cash from the cash registers. Once the suspects received an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled the store, last seen running south on Houston Avenue. No one was injured during this incident. The first suspect was described as a male. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt over his head and he had sunglasses covering his eyes. He had on a black t-shirt and he had on a black long sleeved shirt with white skulls as an under shirt. The suspect also had on black pants. This suspect had a white bag and what appeared to be a handgun inside of the bag. The second suspect was also described as a male. He was wearing a black shirt over his face and sunglasses covering his eyes. He had on a black hat and black jacket. MEDIA RELEASE: Commercial Armed Robbery in east Bibb The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place at the Family Dollar, located at 3656 Jeffersonville Road. The incident took place at around 10:14p.m., Tuesday night. It was reported that three masked males entered as the clerks were closing the store. All three of the suspects brandished handguns as they demanded money from the registers. Once the suspects received an undisclosed amount of cash and assorted boxes of cigarettes, they fled the scene in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident. All three suspects were described as wearing black clothing. The suspects had bandanas and sunglasses over their faces. All three suspects had on gloves and “Jordan” shoes. MEDIA RELEASE: Commercial Robbery in north Macon The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial robbery that took place at the ‘Small Cakes”, cupcake store, located at 5437 Bowman Road. It was reported that a male and female entered the store, earlier in the evening and purchased some cupcakes. The couple left the store and sat in a car, in the parking lot. At around 6:08 p.m., the male entered the store a second time, alone, with a cupcake box. He purchase more cupcakes and then demanded money from the register, as the clerk was cashing out his purchase. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he left the scene. Witnesses stated that they did not see a weapon during this incident. No one was injured during this incident. Witnesses stated that the suspect got into an older model, 2 door vehicle. The vehicle was dark in color. The male suspect was a white male, he was wearing a black in color, “Adidas” brand hat. He was also wearing a black and white shirt. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available. MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE: Pedestrian Accident with Injuries in East Macon It was reported to Bibb Sheriff’s Fatality investigators that 66 year old George Miller of Macon, passed on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Miller was involved in a pedestrian involved accident, as we was walking across Spring Street. Investigators received information from the Coroner’s Office, stating that Miller’s passing was related to the injuries that he received from the accident. This fatal accident is still under investigation. There are no charges at this time. Anyone with information in reference to this fatal accident is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with a Fatality Investigator. July 6, 2018 Pedestrian Accident with Injuries in East Macon The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident with injuries that occurred on Spring St near Riverside Dr. It was reported that 66yr old George Miller, of Macon, was crossing Spring St. when he walked in front of a Honda Civic, driven by 28yr old Johnathan Turner, of Macon. Turner was traveling north, out of town, from Riverside Dr. Miller was taken to the Navicent Health and he is listed in critical but stable condition at this time. No one else was injured in this accident. There are no charges at this time. This accident is under investigation. The workshop included topics such as animal cruelty investigations and prosecution, investigations into dog fighting, case preparation and courtroom presentation in animal abuse cases. MEDIA RELEASE: Temporary Street Closures during President Trump’s Visit As part of President Donald Trump’s visit to Georgia to inspect damage from Hurricane Michael, his travels will take him through a portion of Macon-Bibb, later this afternoon. Travelers may experience temporary road closures and delays on Hawkinsville Road, (Highway 247) and Interstate 75, (between PioNono Avenue and Mercer University Drive). Travelers may see these delays between the hours of 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m., Monday afternoon.
