On behalf of the Dycus family and the Ringgold Police Department, we would like to thank the Chamber of Commerce for hosting today's event. We would also ask that when you are traveling, please watch out for police and other emergency personnel who are working alongside the roadways. Please move over, give them room, slow down! #moveover

Little Harper found Sergeant Martin while he was on a call tonight because she had a gift for the Ringgold Police Department and she wanted to present it appropriately! Harper's Mother said it was because she and Harper had been pulled over in Ringgold a while back for a minor traffic infraction and the Officers they met that night were so polite and professional. Miss Harper, it's our pleasure to serve you! Thank you for taking care of us, too!

The Ringgold Police Department wants everyone to be aware that criminals have been using credit card "skimmers" in the city. We have taken numerous reports on the recent activities. Please check your bank accounts for unusual activity. Skimmers capture the informaton from your credit or debit card when you swipe it. Most transactions are now being done using the chip technology however most gas pumps are still requiring you to swipe your card. Before you swipe your card, look at the device. If it doesn't look normal, don't use it. Pull on the slot and see if it moves. Compare it to a nearby pump to see if they look the same. Look at the seal on the pump to see if it's broken. Even this isn't always safe. Criminals can use 3D printers to duplicate most anything. The seals can be reproduced and then applied. The following link will provide more information about how they work and how to protect yourself. https://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/gas-pump-atm-skimmers.php
